LOL. This is crazy

it was just a random thought that i had when reading this post. i completely forgot about the button on the profile page - *slaps self.

i know it would be extra work - but just wondering if maybe you might think about adding an admin feature that allows the admin to view the site as different membership levels - without having to log out of the admin account?

The current version of cheetah allows you to log in as a member. The button will be on the action menu of the members profile when viewing as admin. So you can do what your asking by simply logging into an account that has that membership level. You can use a test account for this and just assigned the membership level you want to check to that test account before you switch to it.

It still technically logs the admin out and and then in as that user, but the feature your requesting would also have to do the same because keeping admin privileges while testing a members account or membership level would not provide a proper or accurate test.

Yes.  I always thought that there should be a super admin that had complete access to all.  I got into some interesting discussions with HoustonLively over this.  HoustonLively was of the mindset that admins should not have free access to all parts of the site.  To me, having to resort to such tricks as "Log in as user" using Deano Tools just to make sure some hidden photo album wasn't on the site containing Kiddie Porn shouldn't have been needed.

By the way, the moderation role; was that started with Dolphin at some point and then abandoned or a carry over from the early Trident or what?  There are parts of the code that contain reference to the moderator role but it is not in all areas.  I think UNA has expanded on the moderator role.  I know that with Cheetah you can set up moderation in membership actions and then use that for moderators.

Ok, this is wacked. I discovered another bug in Dolphin/Cheetah that had me confused for a while.

As admin i all of the sudden started getting a message, "Your membership does not allow you to send messages" when i was replying to messages.

I am like WHAT??? I am admin, i should not be seeing this.

Turns out the settings like Number of allowed actions in the membership levels are not ignored for admin. I ran into that limit which was what was causing the error.

Little heads up for anyone running into strange problems like that on your sites even as admin.
