Embedding Videos other than Youtube

I read somewhere that Cheetah does, or will eventually allow video embedding from sites other than Youtube. I'm running Modzzz's Advanced Blog's and I'm able to embed videos from several obscure sources there, but not in the Videos module. This is a pity, because it seems my members aren't interested in Blogs, but they keep asking why the Videos Module is so restricted.

Embedding an obscure video in a blog does require some experimentation, but it works and it works well. However, desperate people do quickly learn! 

Does the Videos module allow for embeds from other sites, or is this still in the pipeline? My last tests failed miserably. The first window is definitely looking for a genuine Youtube link.
