Not sure if you would be willing to do it but i would if it was my site.

I would place a announcement right on the top of my main page stating what is going on for those from freelancer that go there to see this persons work. If there was something right in their face the moment they visit the site pointing out that this person is a lying sack of horse manure, then these people most likely would not hire him, and he will loose business and reputation. He should drop the claim pretty quick.

But that's just what i would do.

Darn good idea Deano. Should make them run and hide.

WOW, that is thinking from outside the box!

Great idea Deano!

Adding notices like that may upset your members, so keep that in mind when declaring holy war on him.

I did think about this; the guy is trying to "sell" the Dolphin format.

His way was to show how "good" perhaps it could look and perform.

I told the parties involved after thinking about it, it should be taken as maybe a compliment... the sites are actually very active.

Maybe the guy should make his own "special" site and show it off.

Of course JMO

Compliment ?!   Yeah, well the people I have spoken to about this said the same and that the sites being named must be good to be getting used to sell / gain business ...   OK, maybe he did just mean that the sites are the sort of things he could build BUT >> his words was that the sites detailed was built as "as per our client requirements"

BULLSHIT!   I see this guy and his business is making money from other peoples hard work and trying to pass if off as his own ...

If I was to commit such actions and make public claims that I was the 'creator' or 'mastermind' behind a successful business here in the UK I would be dragged through courts and sued the crap out of!

I would rather my audience didn't know about such crap ... I was hoping Freelancer.com would take this matter more serious BUT they seem to feel a warning is enough for LROC

Which in turns speaks volumes about Freelancer.  Perhaps if you explain to Freelancer that this affects their reputation as well....

Geeks, making the world a better place

Ohhh I did tell them this and I stated I was also prepared to seek legal advice and take possible actions should no actions be taken ...

They think a 'warning' is an enough action even though this business (LROC) has named my network and his own work on many different occasions.

ROFLMFAOP - I fell out when I read the response they gave you, and it had your own site listed. WTHeck.

There is another option though. At least, I see another option.

I would contact that person and inform them that I was the actual web designer of the site he/she is claiming as their own work. And that I really appreciate that they like my work so much that they are passing it off as their own in order to gain new clients. And that they can continue to do so as long as they pay me 65% of the Gross profits from any new clients that they get.

I did that in direct conversation chat. They did not "understand" what I meant, and still tried to "sell" me their services..

Did you read the entire topic and the convo I posted?

Got his email?

If not - get it then post it here.

We can all spam him for fake jobs we want him to do after seeing his amazing add!

the guy might think he's struck gold and follow up all the new work...

if we all ask him to put some hours in before we part with any money, promise big budget etc...

Im sure his greed will get the better of him!

At least let us have some fun with his email ;-)

even better, get his mobile number...

You may have missed the part where he asked me to go ahead and make the deposit, 30% of $5000US to show good faith.
