Hi Andrew. Hope u didnt take my words too personally :-) As I said your template is NOT ugly - its okay but still for me missing professional feeling especially for its price I would expect really top notch design worked out to tiniest details.. If your template cost 50 USd I would say its great for its price. Design is a always big question as everybody have different feeling and taste. What I like somebody else might dislike etc.. Im designer by profession - deisgn posters, logos etc so Im very picky in design. From my point of view as professional designer following template I add link at end of this post is perfect design job - its very clean, designer take an eye on every tiny detail, color selection etc... yet its simple - all that thinbgs togrther makes it really good design. Actually most dolphin templates are pretty bad as people who made them are apparently not designers but programmers and thats why it lack design itself. Template I mentioned is not only real design piece but also is very reasonable priced 30 bucks in comparsion to 150 bucks makes a quite differfence. But thats just my taste... maybe other guys say your template looks better ... :-) Also Gorpus have some nice templates especiall older ones he release about1-2 years ago. Unfortunately newer templates of him also loosing design quality as he prolly not keeping eye on originality a design point anymore - simply older templates from him much better. In fact I found opnly about 5 templates really pro looking from all templates I have seen here. http://www.danslaplace.com/dolphin71/index.php?skin=onlinedating_gray |
as you said, somebody like it somebody dont ... i dont like your suggested template ...

I took the default UNI template as base and made it responsive :D So take out your mobile devices out and start digging :P It was designed for/on 7.1.1 so 7.1.0 is little buggy with it here and there. Don't worry about it. Oh oh and not gonna release now. I don't know what to do from here. maybe make a template with someones help or release it for people to make their own template on it. Well let me decide. Enjoy for now and report any issue if any found. so much to do.... |
Congrats Andrew, You have helped take Dolphin to a new level. Please try this template I adjusted some styles today to make it responsive.

Well done, looks like it may not the big issue we first thought, maybe Boonex can up the standard to responsive. Probably it can be done inbuilt. But doing that menu thing was pretty tricky one. As i didn't want to modify a single file. Boonex surely needs to move some stuff to templates file from classes. The template keys in those html files should be moved to template for better customization. Let me get this straight because maybe I'm not understanding completely. So you take this here: http://www.script-tutorials.com/neat-and-modern-main-section-with-css3/ which is a free tutorial of someone elses design and you put that css into a Dolphin template and charge $150 per? Where exactly is the line drawn where we can copy someone elses work and resell it? http://ModMyCMS.com --> Dolphin Hacks &Mods |
I'm sure it is not easy, but I think many would be surprised to see how quick this come about given some of the reply's. You are saying that Boonex needs to move some stuff from classes for better template customization, would that also help with performance, I read somewhere that templates combined Twitter Bootstrap, HTML5 and CSS3 can make a big difference on overall site performance. http://necolas.github.com/normalize.css/ Probably it can be done inbuilt. This is great. Shows it can be done to prob any existing template! did notice the forums are not working. Were they working before or is this a result of the responsive work? Would really appreciate if you could send me a copy of it to play with! :-) I took the default UNI template as base and made it responsive :D

Forum was never working, some nginx rewrite rule giving troubles. Will look later in it. Sure i will post this template when i will do some more improvements. Its still buggy in many places as i am finding them. This is great. Shows it can be done to prob any existing template! did notice the forums are not working. Wow.. Very nice work both of you. Just checking a few things and noticed that when viewing photos, it tends to cut the right side off. You can turn the phone and see more of it but would think if its a 'wide' picture you may not be able to see all of it.
So if the 'content' like the photos and stuff can be responsive too, that would be awesome. So if there was a 5mb picture, it would auto-resize to fit the screen being used. Nothing to see here |
I know about those things and organizing things up to start development for this. Wow.. Very nice work both of you. Massive thumbs up to you guys for picking up on this... I've posted about the need for responsive templetes a few times in the past but never had a reply!
Looking forward to getting my sites back up and running again being responsive! Thanks again. |
will be good if responsiveness especially on photos and videos will support ibellodelweb extensions at photodeluxe, evowall, 1col 3col as those extensions are massive used by dolphin users.. |

I am not a developer but I believe the 'responsiveness' comes from within the Template and not the individual modules themselves. Nothing to see here |
That's what has been on my mind... That and Anton's Profile Composer will be good if responsiveness especially on photos and videos will support ibellodelweb extensions at photodeluxe, evowall, 1col 3col as those extensions are massive used by dolphin users..

What really matters is not the template; it is the content. Even a lousy template with rich content will be a busy site. A pretty site with no content is a dead site. A responsive site with no content is a dead site. Geeks, making the world a better place |
We know that sir :D What really matters is not the template; it is the content. Even a lousy template with rich content will be a busy site. A pretty site with no content is a dead site. A responsive site with no content is a dead site.
