Canot add new language admin panel

when i try add new language i get this message

could not add a new language to the databace, why i get this message and how i can fix this?

When I try to download a language my computer, Admin => settings => language settings => import language

i try to install my own language, Finnish language and that work fine my other site where i use too dolphin. And i translate that language, and i have only english language and that finnish language what i try to install. But i get that message could not add a new language to the databace.

NOPE: WRONG.

That is a cached copy of what is compiled from the database. You never edit or replace or insert your own files in that folder. They are intended to be over written when the languages are recompiled.

That error is usually the result of a error in the language file such as a ' not escaped with a \ or the file is not in UTF8 format.

Try removing the ending php tag, ?>

Bit of history, there was a problem with people editing Dolphin files and getting the headers already sent message.  Therefore, Boonex removed the closing php tag from files and Dolphin adds that in to files when they are loaded.

That message is rather worthless; it tells nothing.

You can look through the file and see if there are any syntax errors.

I removed the ending php tag, and saved the file out.  I was able to import the file into my site without any issues.  Therefore, if you removed the ending tag and still got the error message, then something else is the issue here, it is not the language file.

 Like i say earlier, that same language fole is my other site and working fine i get that there.

It could be the utf-8 issue, I loaded it into PsPad and then saved it out so it would be saved correctly.  I will attach my file here so you can try it.

I must have missed that.  Well, then, you know the file is not the issue then.  So, you need to look at your Dolphin or server for what is the issue; make sure permissions are correct where they need to be.

I tested the included file lang.fi.php and it imported just fine for me.

I installed the lang file, downloaded from * DarkWarder
first installation was fine
second time I got same error.
my file is well

I am not sure imports can be done twice. I will check that as well.

Yes, as i suspected. It cannot be imported again.

But if you delete the language first, then it can be imported again.

 deano i delete that couple times but still i get that message, why get this message if language file is fine not understand. And now i canot add language and import language.

 
I tested on you site. There has to be damage in the database. I can see no other explanation.

I've ran into this issue constantly and I was able to fix it.

If already removed, check that lang_fi.php is removed in /langs folder and make sure it's gone. Clear Cache: All. Also, in cPanel... delete all cache and cache_public (do NOT remove .htaccess in both folder). Import again.

I can add language but not can  import language ger same message could not add a new language to the databace. So deano how this can fix? And Audanbal that .htaccess not in both the folder.

Click on File Manager

Make sure that "Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)." is checked then click Go. See if .htaccess is there in cache and cache_public.

I do not know. You only provided me with dolphin admin access. To check everything i would also need cpanel access. I can't check permissions or problems in the database without full access.

But i already told you what to try. You have a brand new site that does not seem to have any members or data. I would try scrapping it and installing a fresh copy.

Well i started to look at it, but you seem to be messing with the site at the moment. You seem to have reupload all the files. The install folder suddenly appeared. I cannot work on the site at the same time you are. So it will have to wait.

Not sure if your attempting to reinstall or not, but if your are then you have to delete everything first. Including the database. You cannot reinstall dolphin without getting rid of the old copy first so i am not sure what you are trying to do.

Does not matter at the moment anyway. You re-uploaded the install folder, so the site is not accessible at the moment anyway while that is there.

I have things to do at the moment anyway so i will need to look into this later.

deano i delete all my seite and install again dolphin but still get same message and i have arvixe.com my hosting and they say all is good database working fine no error.

If you did a actual full clean reinstall then you would not have a ad on the front page that says it was added 9 days ago.

The language file imported fine after i shut off all of dolphins caching.
