what does the Group module do?

I created a group in Dolphin 7.1.4, but what can the people who joined that group do? 

a group  is like a community that shares common interests ... so for example you could have a 'programming' group where the group members participate, share ideas, seek help from other people or help other people within the group etc etc.

they can share videos, files, images, sounds and collaborate with each other.

Plus, if you add the Groups Photo Album and Groups Blogs from the Market, each group will have those as well.

So a group could be around Harley Owners; and those who own Harleys could join and discuss things about Harleys.  Groups can also be private where only group members (fans for some strange reason, I changed those language keys to members which make more sense) can see content.

I haven't done a whole lot of project work with the groups section yet, but yeah, it seems to be a module that begs to be "livened-up" with add-ons....and after you have a good number of modules, the whole "Fan" things begins to feel beat to death.

Some members asked about ways to discuss stuff on the main group view page back on 7.0.9 and there were a couple mods for that....One was by converting the Shoutbox to a Group Shoutbox....

Then there's a Multi-Wall option to put a Timeline-Wall on modules like Groups....

OR you can put Facebook Comments on there too...

There's lots of stuff out there to customize the groups module.

I'd like to see a YouTube/Vimeo/Etc.. for Groups or External Video Embedding for Groups Module or see it become a standard part of the base, allowing members to easily embed videos from other major video sites into a Gallery Block or Group Media Folders, or whatever.
