updated from 8 to 9 guess what

I had 8 then went to 9 and then went back to 8, so then i overwritten with 9 and then went back to 8 and then upgraded to 9 and now it says 7.0.8-7.0.9 can't not be upgraded.  I'm sorry but it sound confusing .  I can easily restore to just 8 without any overwriting, and upgrading and degrading, but was just curious to know why it now can't upgrade,

You didn't updated the database after downgrading. Just overwriting files is not enough.

Because that is not the way you "upgrade" a site..

you cannot simply over write files from older to newer or newer to older.. lol

[edit] you cannot "de-grade" a dolphin site.

 I know, but I got frustrated, been up for like over 48 hours.  i'm laughing with you.

 Been there done that!!! Hang in there, it gets simpler.

 That is too funny.  I've been up way too long.  I forgot how to update my database.......

my question is; why go back to .8 in the first place?

 um cause the sign up button wasn't working.  This is a learning process for me, just playing around learning as I go.  Appreciating all the help from you fine people :)

Did you ever find a solution? A few days after upgrading, our join page stopped working entirely. Not entirely sure it is related (after all people were able to join for a few days after upgrading before it suddenly stopped working)... but since I'm desperately searching for a solution, thought I'd see what your solution was.
