there are update with each new version "dolphin" for other modules market prices see here: http://www.boonex.com/market |
Nobody is keeping modules up to date? |
You check the market entry manually for version number differences on your products. https://www.deanbassett.com |
Another mess. I guess if there is no update instructions you have to delete and reinstall. |
If the module does not come with update instructions then you contact the vendor and ask them how to upgrade it and tell them to include upgrade instructions. https://www.deanbassett.com |
NO, BIG NO; don't uninstall the module as that often means you will lose the data. It is very rare that one would have to uninstall a module to upgrade. The vendor will be the one to tell you about how to upgrade the module. The key is not to do anything until you know for sure. If the module does not include upgrade instructions; and these are often included in the installation instructions, so check the installations instructions if you don't see an upgrade instructions text file. If you see nothing about upgrading, then contact the vendor. Often upgrading means just copying the new files over the old files; however, know for sure. Geeks, making the world a better place |
To avoid lost of data simply backup database first, contact vendor if he don't reply or said he don't have update patch, ask for expertz they can save your time for just $10...without compromising your site.. "Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow." @ www.dexpertz.net |

I know. That was meant to be my point. It is very rare that one would have to uninstall a module to upgrade. That is not what I'm experiencing with dolphin in general. Until 7.1 it wasn't even possible to update languages at all! It still can't update existing keys. If the module does not come with update instructions then you contact the vendor and ask them how to upgrade it and tell them to include upgrade instructions. I know that but it shouldn't be needed in a properly developed framework. Boonex should force participants of the market to provide customer friendly updates! Respectively market developers should put force on boonex to provide the basics for it (-> allowing presence of a legacy folder in package).

Thanks but I would be able to hack it myself. This is about finding the problem and get it fixed by the responsable party to advance. |
