still receiving register_globals is On...

You should stick with the same topic instead of creating a new one each time. makes it too hard to follow whats been going on. Did you manually clear all your cache folders?

What kind of server are you on?

Linux? windows, CentOS? Any details you can offer will help those that can help you. Also, use the search feature here, you'll be surprised at how much this topic has been discussed already.

Actually this looks like it's been resolved in the other topic. http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Re-Error-Before-Install.htm

Another reason why you should not start another topic for the same problem. It just causes confusion for those who have not seen the original post.

/usr/bin/php /home/sites/richernetworker.com/public_html/cron.php‏

If thats how you set it, then yea, it's definitely wrong.

The default line should look like this, and dolphin at the end of the install should have showed you this.

cd /home/sites/richernetworker.com/public_html/periodic; /usr/bin/php -q cron.php

But this does not work on all hosts. The path to php which in the example above is /usr/bin/php must be correct for the host. Also some hosts don't accept that format. There are other ways. Just try that one first.

I'm on Hostgator as well and had the same problem. Eventhough I set up my php.ini with register globals off and confirmed it to be the case, I would get the warning from Cron and as long as cron gets that error it will not work. I believe it is because the server's php has register globals on by default and maybe the cron job runs directly on the server instead of through your individual account that has register globals turned off. When I was certain that my register globals were indeed off for my account, I just commented out the warning for register globals in the header inc file. Haven't had a problem since. My working cron on Hostgator shared Linux server is set up as:

/usr/local/bin/php -q /home/ACCOUNTNAME/public_html/periodic/cron.php

BTW, you'll need to ask Hostgator to open the two ports for your RMS service if you want to use profile video comments and video record. Open a support ticket and tell them the ports that you need opened and they'll do it for you in five minutes.

Thank you JimmyBo for your help.

Question... Should the ACCOUNTNAME be a website address?

For example my domain is richernetworker.com

It should be the name of your account. For example, if your web hosting account's name was "richen," it would be /usr/local/bin/php -q /home/richen/public_html/periodic/cron.php. Contact your web hosting provider if unsure.

Yes, as Magnussoft said, it is the name of your account at Hostgator. It should be the username you log into your cpanel and ftp with.

Your cron job statement should now be correct as it is exactly how my working one is stated. Did you comment out the register_globals warning in inc/header.inc.php ?
