rewrite url

hi..anyone know how to change permalink of article ..or is there any module available to change permalinks...

i looked everywhere but didn't find anything ..

i just want to remove this m/articles/view to category name....or atleast i can make it short.. m/a/v/..

help me out please..

No. There are no modules. It's done with the apache .htaccess file in the root of your site. .htaccess is an Apache server thing and if you do a google search, howtos on .htaccess rewrites are available everywhere.

It was also mentioned that you can't add the category to the url. The current url does not have the category in it. You can't rewrite something to include something that is not in the url to begin with.

Thing is and i am sure your not aware of this. The article can still be accessed using it's origional url.

Even that is still a rewrite. The actual non permalink url to all modules that use a m in the url can still be accessed using it's non permalink version. Like so.

http://www.deanbassett.com/modules/?r=articles/view/This-is-a-test

You can't stop the other two.

So again as i have in the past i will tell you again. It's all pointless.
