remove page header icons some remove some dont

I have removed page icons (the icon next to the page header) on several pages by deleting the picture path from the edit Item menu of menu builder. However, even when I remove this from some of the other pages, the stupid icon is still showing.  Is there another way to get rid of the icons without having to hack at the code? I am annoyed at the inconsistency in administration of this process. See image... Thanks
