remove litespeed powered by link PLEASE HELP!

sinderellaman.com/sinmen ...... below the slider... if you view this in google chrome you can see the link...... ie  just brings up a 404 error in a big box

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

That didn't come with Dolphin.  It seems to be a part of that slider code.... which was added very poorly by whoever did it, btw.

what do you mean added very poorly

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

The message is part of the 404 being returned by the server.  When you don't set up a 404 page to show, the server presents it and often display the server being used.

You need to fix the 404 error with your site, either remove the code that is looking for those images or add the images to the proper location on the server.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

You still have the same 404 error going on. I told you how to fix it here:

http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/help-w-danielmarseille-template-because-he-wont.htm

"

There is something trying to load from this location '/BannerHome/BannerHome.html' that of course is not there.

If you go to http://sinderellaman.com/sinmen//BannerHome/BannerHome.html you will see all the broken links.(notice the 2 // after sinmen?)

The problem, is that when you right-click the broken images, you will see the properties are pointing to here:

http://sinderellaman.com/BannerHome/images/layer1.png

(click this link and you will see the same 404 error)

So.. in order to resolve this, you will need to create a directory called BannerHome in the sinderellaman.com root, create images folder within the BannerHome directory and upload the images needed there... OR

Find the destination of the images within the code and update it properly."

Since this is a duplicate topic, I am hiding the other one

 RE:

All that  iframed banner stuff has broken links.  If the banner stuff came with the template, then the template is poorly designed.  If you turned your caching off, I'd be able to tell you more about it, but it's impossible to look at with caching turned on.  That LiteSpeed link is just part of your servers default 404 page that is appearing in the iframe, because the iframe is referencing a file that does not exist.  You get the server's default 404 page when you don't have a custom one set up on your server for this site.

Yea, it means upload the missing files to BannerHome like you were told several times before.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

That template seems to come with files that should be placed in the /BannerHome folder, referenced to your sites root.  Most of them are missing.  Suggest you finish uploading the template and see what happens.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

im guessing the files that I need are not included in my download...... so therefor I just need to get in touch with the vendor.....but Its been a few days and no reply ..

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

If this is a template from the market, that you can download, then you can download it to your computer and ftp them up.  I am guessing that you may not be able to do that.  Yes, the vendor would be the one to fix this since it is their template.  Let me know if you don't hear back from the vendor and I will see about helping you with this.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

it came with instruction etc.... I followed them exactly......... a few items are missing....... I used ftp to upload them.....

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

I have better luck building from scratch using drupal...... but it takes me awhile to do so.........I assumed by using dolphin and the modules available I could get it done faster... I found a file called icons that's empty that im assuming are the missing files for the arrows etc.. to nav the slider.... the vendor I got the template on his page says he will install the template or I could install it and he would reply to emails "fast"......... if 2 to 3 days is fast I would hate for him to take his time.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

You could download the missing files from his demo site. They are there.

But if they are on his demo I'm sure they are in the package too.

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

If the template is missing parts then you can ask for a refund.  You can also put in a dispute in the dispute forum if he does not answer within a reasonable time.

You can also try downloading the template again to see if the missing files have been noted and added to the market.

I refuse to believe that.  If files were missing, other people would have complained by now.  Download the product again, and check again.

@sinderellaman

you say that you have followed the instructions exactly, are you sure? because there is NO file named icon (or folder named icon), i have this template and BannerHome is separate from the main template, when you downloaded the template there would have been a separate zip file for BannerHome, once you unzipped it, that folder and all files and folders inside that folder should have been uploaded to your root, is this what you did?

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

He managed to upload some of it.

Where the rest of it ended up, one can only guess, and how his  home page slider even works at all is a mystery.

They are in the wrong folder. The template expects BannerHome in root.

 RE:

 The site root is: http://sinderellaman.com/sinmen

This url is valid: http://sinderellaman.com/sinmen/BannerHome/BannerHome.html

Therefore, /BannerHome exists in his site's root.

If perchance you meant that the template expects the BannerHome directory in the domain root, then no it isn't there.

 You are beginning to annoy me;

Yes the domain root is /

But his fckn Dolphin site root is /sinmen   read the first post for cripes sake, and stop giving bad advice like moving a template folder above the DOLPHIN SITE ROOT

As far as I can deduce, this template must require you to paste custom slider code in admin.... is that correct?  If that is indeed the case, it is possible that the /BannerHome folder was reference by using /BannerHome, where it should have been referenced as such: <bx_url_root>BannerHome

No... I'm trying to expose the problem in it's entirety.  Everyone else, including yourself, seems to be content putting a bandaid on it. Maybe in your world it makes sense for a template to reference a folder above the site root, but not in mine, so run along....you are not helping

No this is not correct! you only need to do that if you want to replace the original dolphin splash, but there is no need for this, please read the next few lines that are taken straight from the BannerHome install instructions,

Installation:

1. Copy the 'BannerHome' folder into  .root/

------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Two possibilities

- A - If you want the banner to be included in the template - you have nothing to do

- B - If you want to use the banner  to replace splash in admin/Settings/Basic Settings

      In the template: tmpl_blackisblack

      Delete " page_1.html"

And add the code in the file "Code-Embed_BannerHome"

      In admin/Settings/Basic Settings

P.S. Use NeonGreenEx   NeonGreen will require you to enter a bunch of language strings to make full use of the full width drop down menus.

HL are they free for everyone Laughing

Quote · 28 Feb 2014

HL is correct here, the template was not properly installed.  When root is mentioned in the directions, they are talking about the directory in which the Dolphin files are sitting.  In this case the site is sitting in a subdirectory sinmen;  sinderellaman.com/sinmen.  Therefore the root in this case would be the directory sinmen that is holding the Dolphin files; that is where the BannerHome needs to be placed.  it will then be /sinmen/BannerHome.

The second one with the language keys is a neat concept.  The only thing is that the menu has to be at the top of the page where the template places it.  It is possible to put anything in the keys, so you can have a menu with an embedded video or graphics.

Was the caches cleared afterwards? /cache /cache_public and the cache clear in admin?

Geeks, making the world a better place
Quote · 28 Feb 2014

CLO, I didn't find a Page_1.html file in the template folder of sinman's site so I just assumed that.  However, there is no need to place ANY folders outside of the template folder itself, so I have to assume that the template creator did not know how to reference folders and files relative to the site root. for instance:

instead of the template referencing: /BannerHome/BannerHome.html

it should be: <bx_url_root/>BannerHome/BannerHome.html

Then all the files and folder stay inside the template folder.... and we lose that stupid iframe code.  Then again, what the hell would I know about this sort of thing.
