The license has to stay if I understand the creative commons licensing that Dolphin operates under. I believe you can remove the readme and install.txt files.
the htaccess.sample file is just that, a sample of how a .htaccess file is done and it is not read by the server. You can remove it if you wish.

Sometimes, not always, but sometimes the auto install for Dolphin may results in problems. I would test the site out well before taking it to production to make sure all features are working. For example, a user came on here with problems with the photo module. It turned out he had done an auto install; doing a manual install fixed the issues the was having. It's most likely a sample file from your provider to show you how htaccess files look like.

Oh, I did not know you had a Prime License. According to what Andrew Boon has stated, you can remove the branding if you hold a license. However, I am unclear if you can remove the license text file if you hold a license. No one can see or access that file, you don't have to link to that file on your site.

The lisence.txt file is only required when distributing. If for example you provide a download of an original or modified copy then all original licensing information must also be included with the package. That is the lisence.txt and all license information within the header of every source file.
As far as i know there is nothing that says you can't take it out of your own copy. However i don't really seen the need to do so unless your doing something illegal and are deliberately trying to hide something. https://www.deanbassett.com |

i don't want people to know m running a boonex script...
m not distributing or anything.. m just using dolphin for myself (personal blog)...and m having a prime license...so should i remove or leave it there..
.i can't find anywhere in agreement that i have to keep that license.txt in my root folder..

You can't distribute Dolphin without the license, but I think you can remove the license from your site. I did. Dedicated servers for as little as $32 (28 euro) - See http://denre.com for more information |
Thanks Deano. According to Deano you can remove that text file as it only has to be kept when distributing the software. For example, if I pass along the Dolphin 7.1.4 zip file to another party; perhaps because they are having issues with downloading it, then I have to keep that license in the copy I pass along.
