re-installing my store generates error

Installation of: Store Failed
-- Changing database:
-- -- There are errors in the following MySQL queries:
-- -- Error:
INSERT INTO `sys_menu_top`(`ID`, `Parent`, `Name`, `Caption`, `Link`, `Order`, `Visible`, `Target`, `Onclick`, `Check`, `Editable`, `Deletable`, `Active`, `Type`, `Picture`, `Icon`, `BQuickLink`, `Statistics`) VALUES(NULL, 4, 'Store', '_bx_store_menu_my_products_profile', 'modules/?r=store/browse/my', @iCatProfileOrder, 'memb', '', '', '', 1, 1, 1, 'custom', '', '', 0, '');

If I just run this query in my database, will it install the missing items?

It looks like these all already exist...

I think somehow it wasn't completely removed in a previous uninstall and now it's conflicting with itself when you try and reinstall it

I'm not paying for support on this issue. If need be, I'll manually back out everything related to the store from my database and do it the hard way. OR, you could just help me. This is some kind of weird flaw that exists because I updated twice without reinstalling it.

Ok, that's the only error I am getting. Don't i just need to add it to the database? can't I just run that query?

Ok, we're narrowing it down. Want me to quit posting each individual thing I try?, then HELP me.

I have narrowed it down to a menu issue. I think there's a menu item either missing or screwed up.

Backup First......    Try searching in database for...  -Search-  Name - "Store"  delete all. then try installing mod

you will see...

modules/?r=store/browse/my

SF,

i have this problem with other modules, when uninstalling them, but for some reason end up with the issue on the sql statement for the menu, i have went into the sql statement and removed the reference where it wishes to run those records, and run the install again. it will install or has for me in the past.

seems that everything you mention in here on the forums nowadays,  you are instructed to submit a ticket. if these are bugs, are we not providing the feedback of the bug, why are they being addressed in a private ticket setting now, or not addressed at all?

what has been answered by a boonex staffer lately --> N O T H I N G, the answer is submit a tickets, this is a ticket. this is the forum where you are getting your free beta testing and debugging, please have some consideration and answer these issues in the open forum. because providing an answer from a ticket perspective, doesnt contribute to the community at large.

case in point, i wrote about the voting tracking system not working, was completely and utterly ignored, was instructed to submit a ticket, i submitted a ticket, guess what answer i got from that? the same non-answer i got from posting here in the forums.

then the irony of that is that two weeks after i complained about the voting tracking not working, poof a magical mod appears in the market for voting tracking.

Agree 100%.  The "Support" ticket system is not setup correctly and is changing the help here in the forums. From what I can see, we only have one Boonex person responding to issues ( we should see him fly through posts here any second now ).   I call him "Taz"

Yer a frikkin genius DosDawg! I went to the install.sql file and removed:

SET @iCatProfileOrder := (SELECT MAX(`Order`)+1 FROM `sys_menu_top` WHERE `Parent` = 4 ORDER BY `Order` DESC LIMIT 1);
INSERT INTO `sys_menu_top`(`ID`, `Parent`, `Name`, `Caption`, `Link`, `Order`, `Visible`, `Target`, `Onclick`, `Check`, `Editable`, `Deletable`, `Active`, `Type`, `Picture`, `Icon`, `BQuickLink`, `Statistics`) VALUES
(NULL, 4, 'Store', '_bx_store_menu_my_products_profile', 'modules/?r=store/browse/my', @iCatProfileOrder, 'memb', '', '', '', 1, 1, 1, 'custom', '', '', 0, '');

I was then able to install the store. Now I am going to try and do a proper uninstall, repair the install file back to it's former glory and try again.

I shoulda left well enough alone! I was able to uninstall the store but then reinstalling after I repaired the install.sql file failed just like before. I played with the store after the install and it seemed to work fine. Can you tell me what that specific line is for? Obviously, it has something to do with the main menu. If it isn't important, I will just work around it. (work around an issue in Dolphin? Whoever heard of such a thing!)

NEW EVIDENCE that Dolphin will make you crazy. I reinstalled it, seems ok. But now in my admin section, I have the store listed in both the installed and uninstalled sections.

next method that i have used in the past and been sucessful, was to remove the module altogether after it has been uninstalled, clear everything, as is standard these days, i've never cleared so much cache in my frigging life, but you know the drill, uninstall the module, dump your caches, and be sure to dump your mysql cache tables on this as well. make sure all trace of the store is gone.

then push the module backup via ftp or your fav cpanel file upload, then give it another whirl.

what is happening in my opine, is that the sys_menu stuff is not getting removed on some of these modules on an uninstall, thus its problematic when you try to reinstall.
