profile video that auto start

I'm trying to figure out how to allow member to add videos to the profile page that will auto start when someone visits there profile..

Any ideas?

An auto playing music or video on a web page is the most annoying website related thing I can think of.  It's up there with that creepy Tom guy of Myspace automatically added to your friends list.... ewwwwww.

What if they embed it from Youtube with the bit of code in the url that autoplays? I've never tried it and I haven't used Youtube in years but I know you used to could post a vid with a variable in the url that would make it autoplay.

yeah would work but creating a block that will play a select video of the member choice...

Not sure how to do it, but i have to agree with HL on this one. When i hit a site or anything that auto plays music that i am not in the mood to listen to, i normally leave. Very quickly.

I run into a lot of dolphin sites i work on for clients that play videos with sound automatically right on the home page. In that case i have no choice so i mute my speakers, but if i was not actually there to work on the site i would just leave.

It's not a feature that is liked by very many visitors. And forcing it on the visitors is bad development which is one of the reasons video ads that have sound are normally muted by default. The new auto play that occurs on facebooks news feed for the videos is also muted by default for the same reason.

okay i think there a miss understanding im not talking about a video playing if someone visit the site that easy.
The question was if a member want a video to play on the profile if somone else visit it..

OH MY! The world is coming to an end, HL and I agree on the same thing.  It seems that every site now has videos auto playing; I want a browser plugin to make them stop!

Enable HTML for the description box; I created a special set of the TinyMCE toolbars to limit some of the things they can do.  They can then embed videos in the description box that auto play.  However, I hate auto playing music and videos on a profile page and either mute or leave.

This is the only video I wouldn't mind auto playing
