please help i can't retrieve admin password

please help i can't retrieve admin password - it can't recognize the email i register for admin --- please help me i run ver 7.1 

Do you have access to the database; for example, through phpMyAdmin?  If so, log into the database and you can change your email address for your profile.

There is a procedure for changing the password but I have had trouble getting it to work.  If you can make sure your email is entered correctly, then you can use the forgot password thingy.

I have not using the internet for the last 3 months because of issues with my life -- i seemed to foget how to but if you can tell be exactly where to look for in adminphp where and what to edit to change new password for admin this would help me thanks

I found the email which i creadted for admin --- i am now able to get back and login with new password for admin - thanks and have a great weekend everyone
