pet games

Well im been checking out other social media sites and noticed a game that appears to be spreading or own by the same people.
Pets where you buy and sell people as pet. I first found this on tagged and now hi5 has intergrated it...

I really dont get it but people appear to enjoying it and wonder if any of the developers have something like this in the works?

isn't this basically another version of buying and sending each other gifts, I mean buying and selling people as pets ?

Let me get this straight.   We are going to have a module where people pretend to be animals, but to date we don't have a single module that is related to health, wellness, & fitness? 

Does anybody but me see something wrong with this?

If I had the skills  that some of these guys have around here have, I'd sure as hell be using them on something a little more grown up than a module where people pretend to be friggin animals.  Nothing personal Modzzz, but you really need to reach a little higher.

I agree. Module developers come up with really great things and take dolphin to the next level!!

I develop what clients/potential clients ask for. Many persons have asked me for this. It is a popular feature on Tagged and MyYearBook which are two of the biggest social sites around presently. No one has ever asked me about a module related to health, wellness, & fitness, neither do I recall seeing any requests in the forum so there is no incentive to spend my time developing such a mod. If you post the specifics of what such a mod entails and others show interest in the idea then it will definitely go on my TODO list.

I do see Modzzz point .... why spend time developing modules that the majority do not even talk about and would not purchase ...

I can't believe what some people / members enjoy spending their time doing, but if it's what they want and it keeps them around ... give them what they want!

Modzzz has a point, developers create modules to make money so market demand will drive what gets created.  I have posted requests for modules that never get built and my guess is that since I am the only one requesting the module, developers won't do the work because they don't think their effort will translate into revenue.

That is a driving point. I want to at least sell enough to get back the time i spent on it. But if it does not make a profit, it's just not worth it to me. I have several mods in the market that are not moving at all.

I thought my comics mod would be a huge hit. It's not. That is another one i have not recovered development time on yet.

It's hard to tell what people want or would be in high demand. If there was a place setup here where mod requests could be made, and other voting on mutual interest on it, the developer would be able to predict demand a but better.

plus a survey place where we can really spill our thoughts about the mods and vendors that is connected to the providers ranking.

 i think that's a really good point because the chances are there are lots of us that would like the same mod but probably think that we're the only one that would want it so don't bother mentioning it (or maybe that's just me)

imho its a very stupid idea.  that said, its wildly popular on sites like tagged, Hi5 and others.  It drives a lot of clicks and user time on those sites.  

when doing research for our site we came across this person/pet game in a few forms and variations.  while we don't personally want it, I can 100% understand why others would.  If there was something else that provided a similar function (driving user engagement and correlated clicks) that was more consistent with our raison d'etre we would be all over it.

I really enjoy your comic mod; I don't subscribe to papers or other media that would have comics; so now I can get them on my site.  I have even copied some to blog posts when I thought they made a particularly good point.  Your comic mod is one of the fun things that I offer the members.  I am glad you developed it; I am sorry it has not been a money maker for you.

I have been using dolphin since 7.0.3, and have not seen but one site related to health (besides our projects). I saw this site when Boonex used to have an area where users could post their sites (wonder what happened to it). But, HL, I doi have a module that I created specifically for mental health patient management. There is still a little bit of cleaning up to do, but it will hopefully be very useful for those who do start working on health related sites.

In social media is like a card game it a hit or miss on what turns people on and off..

Like i said i think i understand the concept but why people love this game is to each there own...

I like making members happy and if it mean added pet so be it....

I'll monitor your process on this mod and see if it meets or excess the need for it...

Personally  . . . . .my community is anxiously awaiting this module and it is a community of people OVER 40 !!!!!  It isnt a matter of use your talents for something bigger and better ,  Modzzz is very talented and can do that at anytime ! It's a matter of give the people what they are asking for . . . .thats called GOOD BUSINESS ! Im first in line for this module Modzzz , dont let the social network haters bring you down . . . . .you rock !

I confess. I've secretly been working on a Dolphin dating site for dogs.  The response so far, has been amazing.

 That makes at least three of us that think this is a great idea.

Sometimes people just need a break , and need to laugh and have fun, ever think of that ? There's too much tragedy in the world already without you whining over something as trivial as a module thats designed to let people have a little fun , give it a rest already sheeeeesh !

A great Mobile mods.. That's all people want here.

 No one use Laptop anymore. I have 5 of them I don't even remember the last years that I use my laptop. But I can tell you one thing. I use my tablet and phone every 10 second. (?)

We don't have any one in here that can really deliver a great mobile mod yet. don't get me wrong Mobile NEWS FEED - IBDW  is a great mod but not enough to make an app complete.

I spent over $25,000 in here for over 3 to 4 years. Boonex Failed me I am a winner but by choosing boonex I have become a loser. Some developers  just here to steal not to  help. but I will not point fingers at anyone.

Not longer ago maybe 3 months ago . I spent over Thousand of US $$$$ for unique mods and apps updating and upgrading. On the end I've lost  $$$$ because Apple does not like my apps.

this is not included on the project. I strongly agreed with the developer: but I think, they should include with the Dolphin apps.

Why it is so hard for Dolphin apps to be successful ? The problem is not you.. nope .. It's Dolphin lack of features...

I bought over 400 modules here at the market. I can't stand some of the mods  but I bought them anyway just  to support the developers.

Now I am getting so tired.

 Probably someone at General Mills.  Cheerios have a glycemic index at the higher end of the  scale, and it is not a good choice for a healthy breakfast.  Cheerios is not a heart healthy food like GM would like you to believe.  You'd know this if you weren't too busy taking those tests on FB that tell you what kind of animal you are.

Waste of time trying to talk to someone like this my friends, who is only looking for any negative thing they can possibly find to say to anyone because it is what fills their life and makes them ( so they think ) feel better about their pitiful lives. Let's knock everyone else so I feel like the big man on campus, is that your method of madness ? Little do they know it makes people laugh AT them not with them !  This person is a prime example of someone who wishes they had the talent Modzzz has, but they know they dont so they will try to make them appear to be foolish to the public , when in reality it is only them that will be pushed to the side , while others soar above them in the world and watch as their jealousy consumes them.

Question : How many kids do you think were bullied by this person in school ?

 Well stated Detective , Kudo's to you. Not everyone will like , or play the game but the demand is there. I would like to see a health and wellness mod alongside the Pets Mod and see which one does the best ? Im putting my bets on the Pets ! thats the moneymaker , whether people like it or not , thats the way it is , to each his own and well wishes should go with their preferences , not slams and slanders.

 You are 100% correct in that assumption.  I wish I did, and if I did, I would hope that I would put it to better use than a pretend to be a domesticated animal module.

I am simply suggesting that the "Why" should be something more than pretending to be an animal.  I wonder how much time guys like Albert Einsten, or countless other great men and women in history spent pretending to be a wiener dog.

If wishing people would find a higher purpose than pretending to be an animal, or tending to an imaginary farm is construed as pitiful to you, there is no hope for you. 

As long as we are going to have a module where people pretend to be animals, I have a few questions.

1. Everyone knows, that dogs greet each other by sniffing each others butt.  Will this module have provisions for that? 

2. Will dogs randomly hump other dogs?

3. Cats constantly barf up hairballs. Will this be implemented in any way? If so, will there be a top/fav/recent/featured hairballs feature?

4. Another thing that comes to mind, is that cats lick their own butt several times a day. If you are pretending to be a cat, will you be required to do this?

5. Will animals be allowed to kill other animals? To attack small children?

6. Will old, sickly animals be euthanized?

7. What if I have the 'Cars' module installed? Is there a chance dogs will get run over?

It's the younger genreation (Millenials or whatever we call them now) taking over. They come up with the strangest things. Make it popular by sharing with all their digital (fake friends), and expect us old dogs (people that grew up before the interent existed) to think that it is cool.

I don't get it, but I understand keeping up with what people want. To me it's dumb as hell, but people are so tuned into their technology, gadgets, and gizmos, that they don't even know what has heppened in the world the last 10 years (or more), nor do many even care anymore. All they care about is what Jane Doe said on Facebook or Twitter (what a joke, and pathetic world we have become) As long as my internet works I don't care what's happening in (some part of the world). To bad that is what's become, but that's the way it is I guess.

I wish I could turn the clock back 10-20+ years, but unfortunetely I can't. All I can say is God help us when this younger generation starts to make important choices about the world.

They do have a say. In order to play this game you have to ENTER your own info IN first. Otherwise you wont be posted as a profile for sale.

This is a good game , and remember , GAME is the operative word , it is not to be taken seriously at all , it is all just in fun.

Why does everything have to be about money and profit? It is ok to provide something useful to the human race once in a while.

 Sure it is !  And will you GIVE this mod away for FREE ? All the hours that it takes you to create , design , refine and make sure it works well  . . . .given away to people for free . . . . . .OR . . . . . will you sell it for Money and a profit ?

There are some here that indeed DO give their hard work away and to them I give major Kudo's because I openly admit I dont have the skills to create a module but I respect the people that do . Im sure it takes hours upon hours of work and when someone just gives it away , how can you NOT be appreciative of that. The people that do sell mods , deserve it for the hard work they are doing.

But you know , some of the people that buy these mods are buying them as part of entertainment or as a resource to generate income for a business that is online.

 If a module is a "game" about profit'ing , as I have said in previous post's , remember , its a game , if you take it literally , then who really has the issue here ?
