page blocks

OK so I have added and subtracted some page blocks and moved some around already right now the page blocks page  and my home page do not match!  Why is this and I see no blocks to add to my home page to change what blocks are there.  Whats up with this?  My goal is to add polls to the home page but I see no way in page blocks to do this at this time.

In you admin - go to Builders - select page blocks - then select homepage from the drop down menu.  In inactive blocks you should see "Polls"  just drag that up to Active blocks.

If you don't see it in inactive blocks.  make sure the polls module is installed by going to Tools - then modules in you admin

Also it won't show if you have no current polls on your site

Thanks for that.  Those steps should work but now they are not working.  Whats more confusing to me is that the active blocks do not match the showing blocks on the website.  Seems almost like I am looking at the wrong site but I am not.  Thanks again!

What browser are you using?

If google chrome, then switch to firefox. Google chrome and the admin panal do not get along.

I assume you've already double-checked this, but make sure that the 'visible to member' and/or 'visible to visitor' options are ticked.

Hey were would I find visible to members as far as polls and blogs are concerned?  I cannot administer either of these.  I re-installed all the other modules but I am not seeing how to approve an Ad for example.  I see how to add a category and a sub category, but I am not seeing how I would approve or post an ad anywhere!  With the polls the same store I see how to approve or not but not how to create a poll, what am I missing?!

Go into the builder>page blocks and click on each of the individual page  blocks. You will see the checkboxes in the popup window for making them visible to visitors and members.

To add a poll or an add, go to that modules page and click the button in the upper right (under menu) where it says "Add Poll" or "Add Ad."
