new signup emails be confirmed and approved

I am confused because i have my dolphin sites set up so no emails/members can be approved without being manually checked and approved, but on some occasions signups are being auto approved without being manually verified by myself.

You may change it via admin panel -> settings -> advanced settings -> moderation -> 'Auto-activate profiles after joining' and 'Auto-confirm profile without confirmation email' settings. 

I dont want signups to be auto approved/confirmed, i have it set that any signups need to be manually approved/confirmed by an admin.

i.e. I get a notice a new member has joined, then I have to go into admin check the user and then manually approve the user.  this is how i have it set up, but some are getting auto confirmed. 

 I even notice some will give a single letter for the city and get approved, yet when i try and change them to rejected it wont let me as the city is not long enough, so how can they pass the join stage if this is too short.

It is clear no one has a solution for this.

If you have this checked admin panel -> settings -> advanced settings -> moderation -> 'Auto-activate profiles after joining' then the system will auto activate/approve members when they join.  If this is not checked then when a member joins you will be notified of this and then in your admin panel under members you can approve or disapprove members manually.

we have that option unchecked so to manually approve joining members, but on some occasions some members are being auto approved and confirmation emails sent out.

I noticed you have purchased my facebook connect which by the way facebook connect was never intended for closed sites like that. It's meant for open sites like facebook is so people can quickly signup or login without having to fill out long signup forms or go through some kind of approval process.

Anyhow, if your using my facebook connect, it has a option to override dolphins settings so those that join from facebook connect are set to active. Which is the default setting. Have you checked that setting?

I have 2 sites and your mod is only on one of them, but this issue happens on both sites.

 This cannot be a Facebook issue as on one of my sites i uninstalled facebook connect so this is not available and yet users are still signing up and being auto confirmed.
