mobile app with no registration?

Hi guys.  While i was working on it, i just realized that there is NO registration on boonex app!!!!  My plan is to go to a huge event and tell people to download and try it out.  It's quicker and easier for them but now, with no registration, it's pointless!!  :(  

Is there a way to add to it?  Any tweaks?  Please let me know.  I'm so disappointed!  :(

Maybe you should add the WAP module.  Then at least they can join with a mobile device.

yeah i had to do the wap,, then i set my index.php to auto detect mobile devices, so they dont even see my main page like pc users do it automatically throws them into the mobile version of the site from the same main url. then i have my main video chat the works with all mobiles (non flash) and they can even use chat as guest before they join even to see if they like it

It's a great point I had the about button changed to a page that offers a link to join.php.

The mobile apps show so much promise but the beauty of a mobile APP is its ability to allow people to be mobile.  The mobile app should have the option of just teasing people with what you have to offer altogether.  A person should be able to use the APP without having to join and the APP should help them make the decision to join.

The current setup assumes so much that it should not have to.  It assumes the person will already be a member thus no join process and it also assumes that a person will come to the APP via the site and not vice versa.  IMHO this is a DRASTIC mistake and is the exact opposite of the process of finding people's sites.  If its easy and enjoyable then lets take a look at the website as well.  My app is so easy to find via Google and other search engines as I used initials of the site.  

 I too want to use the APP as a lure to get more clients and I am always faced with but you have to join first.  If not the case I would be in the tallest tree screaming about my APP.  I too would have major events to just talk about the app and what it can do NOW but it would be so much more exciting to say HEY download this APP and take it for a spin if you like it join through the link that is setup...  Also I need to know if the LIVE JOIN can be used or be tweaked so a person can at least do that?  That would be a much smoother process and very quick which would make it quite easy to do...

Patrick81 I was like OK I must of missed something where do you join? LOL  It clearly would be a major step forward to interconnect the live join feature to the APP that would allow a person to push one button and they are in NOW THAT IS COOL AND WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER>>>

According to Andrew's reply to my post via the Mobile 1.6 preview, he stated:

There is no technical barrier to adding comment/post functionality. These things would take more time, however, mostly because they bring up a lot of different "implications". Anyway, we will keep adding things to the mobile apps, gradually. For now, yes, read-only blogs and articles. It is not yet decided what will be included into next round... but we do have some things that we're targeting - sign up, video upload, comments, groups, events, etc.

Since that was a 'preview' and not a definite of whats in the new version, we can hope that registration will be added before the 1.6 release.

Thanks guy!!  Yeah im shocked abt that.  Looks like wap is the best solution for now but still  this is a joke.
