members bar notifications

Dolphin 7.1.4

Hi all this is my first post and thanks in advance for any help

We had to remove the bottom member/chat bar to make way for a new chat module.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to reproduce the a icons like what was in the member bar as when people get new mailbox messages etc there is now no way for it alert them.

The new chat module has the ability to add icons and coding to them. Maybe even a relocation/redesign of the member bar to the right or left side of screen im not sure yet ill take any ideas.

Cheers guys

Sorry. That will not be possible.

The toolbar you have now is independent. The one built into dolphin was not independent. The icons and functions within that bar are integrated. They do not function independently. There will be no way you can add those icons to your new bar and have them actually work.

I have the comet chat application installed on my Dolphin site and I have it placed on top of the member bar.  It does not look very pretty at the moment and I have wanted to see what I can do to place the comet chat bar inside of the member menu bar but have not played with it yet.  So I do understand the need.  I don't want to place the member bar at the top of the screen.  If you can live with the member bar at the top, that may be the solution for you.

You misunderstood what I said.  With comet chat, you could put your member menu bar at the top of the page.  However, I did not want to do that.  For now, what I did was to leave the member menu bar at the bottom of the screen.  Comet chat sits in front of the member bar at the bottom as well.  I reduce the width of the comet chat so it would not cover up the icons on the member menu bar.  I would like a better solution but have put this at a lower priority to other stuff like upgrading the site.
