media browse button for TinyMCE?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to add a browse feature to the TinyMCE editor, specifically for media/video?  Currently when you click on the media button you then need to type in the URL or file path for the video you want to upload, which doesn't seem particularly user-friendly, and is open to human typing error.

I know it is possible for images with the phpimage mod by Chap1978, but I can't find the equivalent for video.

Any ideas?

Tom.

It is with the proper file manager added as a plugin to TinyMCE.

great, thanks.  And would I need to take that from the tinymce site?   I see lots of third party filemanager plugins there...didn't see anything as part of the dolphin installation?

If you want each member to have a separate directory where they can upload just their content, then you have to integrate the file manager into Dolphin.  That is not that hard to do and there is a forum post here with the TinyBrowser plugin.  However, the guy that wrote TinyBrowser does not seem to be interested in upgrading it to TinyMCE 4.  If Boonex decides to upgrade TinyMCE to version four, then TinyBrowser will stop working.  What is needed is to have a file manager that can be used in both the current TinyMCE 3 as well as TinyMCE 4.

Yeah, I saw tinybrowser in my surfings...ok, I will take a look at that, and there are quite a few 3rd party plugins that are v4 compatible, I was just hoping there was something 'inhouse' to save on the angst that new installations from external sources always seems to entail!!

Thankyou :-)

No, nothing inhouse.  There is a module in the market that will integrate the Moxie file manager but I don't know if it has been tested to work with TinyMCE 4.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
