In my opinion it's all about the links.  Get a link to your site on a handful of other sites and you will start showing.

The best way to start is to use: forums, blogs, press releases, website reviews, top sites, articles, social media, book marking, etc.

Even better, if you can find even one old and reputable site to give you a link, then you are well on your way.

Now if you want to rank high for specific keyword like "Adult Dating" then you would try to use those keywords in and around your anchor text.

What is anchor text?  The text you use for your link.  Example:  <a href="http://www.boonex.com">Dating Software</a>

I agree with JasonVan... But before you head out looking and begging for links, make sure your site has a solid foundation; structured correctly (if your in it for the long haul).  Add individual titles and descriptions to pages (check market for  Head Injections), add relevant content to each page, (if a local targeted site) add a little something "local" to the footer, check to see image alts and such - add tags where needed, add an xml and on site html sitemap (submit to the monopoly), add on-site links to others pages within site and of course build 'Quality'  links (Not quantity but Quality).... Also, don't ever forget about the ever abusing social networking sites and while your at it,  say a few prayers...

Without a solid site foundation, you may see some great results but they will die off sudden  (hmm, that's what happens)..  It's all about structure, content, links, relevancy, fresh content and your VBR (visitor bounce rate).  If all is well with a lot of visitors, but your bounce rate is at 85%, you will loose your positions and visitors very quick. So that tells you... keep your home page simple (KISS) , to the point and offer incentives for users to continue (Eye Candy). What's "Eye Candy"- Items on your site that you are trying to direct (force) users to (not ad-sense) but things to keep a users visual intellect going (hmm. what's this).

I could go on and on, but follow the basics about building a strong solid foundation and anything after that is just Profit.... (For the long haul)
