 Hey guys. I need to update from RED5 .9.1 Final to 1.0 RC1. I would like to learn how to do it myself. Is it hard to do it? I need to do this for newer version of Flashcoms Chat. I'm running a dedicated server Debian. It would be awesome if you could tell me step by step. I'm comfortable using SSH.

I think the difficultly level depends on your server setup and any web-apps red5 is running. I was able to setup a new install of red5 on my home Ubuntu server in under 20 min following a how-to guide, but I didn't have to bring over any config files or web-apps that may or may not work on a different version of red5. So with the above in mind, I would say could be easy but if you have to ask is probably hard. Light man a fire keep him warm for a night, light him ON fire & he will be warm the rest of his life |
Thanks Lether. I realized RED5 isn't one for all. It depends on my setups, chat software, web-apps etc etc like you mentioned. I'm not a server guy so i'm going to pass. I found someone who's willing to do this for me. :) Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it! |
