hello thank you for the reply ..

when a profile is new with no pictures the empty profile photo block where the picture goes has a photo upload link.. but when the member uploads the first picture into the picture block in main profile it covers the area where the upload picture link goes

Come on you lot this is an issue that affects everyone who is using the last 2 upgrades of dolphin and the fix is quite easy if you know how ..unfortunately I do not know where the files are that need editing  its in relation to members confusion and mine for that matter :O) now we have picture placement  in profile before any pictures are uploaded there is a upload link in the photo place holder see attached photos this is covered up once you have uploaded a picture .... then in the profile menu there is not a link to take members to avatar upload you can only access it from main menu ..

to stop this confusion all that is needed is to place 2 new buttons in the actions button area or 2 links above the photo container where the just simple links to picture upload and avatar upload  what file do i have to edit to place this link

<a href="m/photos/albums/my/add_objects/Cupid-s-photos/owner/Cupid" title="Add photo">Add photo</a>

to the right of the words Profile photos  and what would be the html code for a link to avatar upload this will stop members from being confused and having to leave the profile page to hunt for upload pages ...

No. There is not a easy fix.

How about i tell you where all the code is that generates this. The code that displays that link is in the elseif block of code that is shown if no photos are found.

This is not as easy as you might think, so you ether have to do it yourself, or wait until someone has a lot of spare time on their hands to provide a rewrite for it.

The file is. modules\boonex\photos\classes\BxPhotosSearch.php

The function is getPhotoBlock and in D7.0.5 that starts at line 351 and ends at line 485

The code that displays that link is between lines 463-483.
