how to remove splash.php from index url ???

I would like to remove the splash.php from my index url so it reads:

mysite.com

instead of:

mysite.com/splash.php?

I'm guessing there is a quick line that can be entered into the .htaccess file

but I've been searching the web and I'm on information overload.

Apparently there is about 1,000 ways you could do this.

What would be the fastest and easiest?  Thanks!

I think you might want to use some sort of mod rewrite like. Be careful though. I can remember if this will effect the $_GET superglobal. Meaning, I'm not sure if variables that are grabbed from the URL with be affected at all. Always back up your original files before trying out things by crazy people like me ;-)

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^PageNameYouWantToChange.php whatyouwouldliketochangeitTo.php

Here is what I added to the .htaccess file:

RewriteRule ^/{0,1}$  splash.php? [QSA,L]

Not sure what the {0,1}$ and the [QSA,L] mean, but I copied the way Boonex did it for other urls in the .htaccess file.

This works perfect.  Hope it won't negatively affect anything else...

Okay it looks good if you don't use a mobile mod cause then it doesn't work for the mobile to be able to connect.
