how can i make photo's visible?

at the moment, when you upload a photo to a mod such as events, the photo's do not appear in the main photo's section (which i would like them to do), correct me if i'm wrong but i believe that since 7.1 these photo's all get placed in an album that even the member who uploaded the photo's to the event cannot see, is there a way to make this album viewable to the member by default and also set the privacy level of the album to Public (by default) so that the photo's automatically show in the main photo's section of the site? i haven't got round to trying sounds or videos yet, but if they work the same way then i would also like them to appear in the main sections of the site as well if possible

sorry to bump this but's it's a very important question for me and i'm hoping someone who might have an answer simply missed the post

This is one of those areas that will require going in and redoing the code.  Most of us are too busy to devote time to playing with things.  You could try posting a job but it appears that most of the jobs posted don't get answers.  I would look at this but I need to finish upgrading a site to 7.1.4; I have only done 7.1.1 at this time; I have to do it on a clone site, look for any errors, fix them and then apply to the production site; and each upgrade has to have all my code changes applied before I can run the upgrade.

as you can see from gg's answer it would be a right pain in the a*** to do what i first asked, so now i'm thinking, 

is it possible to change the destination folder to where all mods photos (also sounds and videos) such as events, groups, etc are uploaded too? at the moment they are uploaded to the folders named Hidden (which is also hidden and not accessible to the member that uploaded them) is it possible to change it so that they are uploaded to the members main folders, i.e. username's Photos / username's Sounds / username's Videos, that way not only would they be viewable on the event page, group page etc, they would also be viewable on a members profile (in their albums), in the main photos (also sounds and videos) section of the site, and also on the outline on the home page and on a members timeline,

I'm having the same problem with photos posted in 'Groups' and 'Locations'.

Uploaded photos are often photos that could stand alone with a good title and description, so should therefore appear in a photos folder (perhaps called 'Group Photos', 'Locations Photos', 'Events photos') in the member's Photo albums section.

It would also be helpful if members could browse photos already in their albums to add to 'Groups', 'Locations', or 'Events' where needed; instead of having to browse for 'duplicate files' on their computer, to upload every time.
