facebook signup. not showing up in search results.

When users sign up with facebook, they are not showing up in search results.

has this happened to anyone else? The profile is there, but just doesn't show up in the search results.

It maybe that "Sex" is not specified in profile - then it will not be shown in search results since search form is designed to search for profiles with some particular gender.

You could try to remove "Sex" field from search form, it will maybe help.

Sex is stated and shown in member's profile. If I remove "sex" then nobody would be able to find which sex they are looking for.

I just found something. I went to "edit profile info" and I had to manually choose which sex I am looking for. I am a man looking for a woman, but the "looking for" part wasn't automatically chosen when I signed up using facebook connect. So if someone searches for a sex, that person will not show up if there is not a match. I had to set the sex preferences on edit profile page to show up in search results. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it worked for my problem.

Anything that is looked for as part of the search must be specified in the profile for the search to work.

Facebook does not ask for a gender that someone is looking for, so it obviously cannot be obtained from facebook. It would also be completely inappropriate for a script to just choose one automatically for them.

So at least with my facebook mod which has the profile incomplete nag you could set both of those fields to mandatory and nag the members to complete their profiles.
