eaccelerator & dolphin 7.5 opinions/options caching which is best ??

B4 you get started telling me to read the server recommended settings i DID ok Wink and have done most of the tweaks .... i have all those mod extensions and settings done and " enabled"  and more ...i even have e-accelerator installed  BUT

my question(s) is simply this......... i noticed in dolphin admin it has various caching options  one of which is Excellerator , ( i know this may sound obvious or dumb question ...obviously i have that " option",

(shooting myself in the foot is also an "option" but why do it if you don't have to   dooooooh ) but now that it's installed couldn't i now select it as an option .. what are the " problems or issues with it ..... shoulda coulda  woulda  :)

any people with insight on this

ps... what i'm trying to avoid is mangling it unnecessarily .. and avoid " you did what ..are you crazy"  LOL :) don't touch that .. do @ your own risk ....

thanks

if any of those caching engines are installed, you can then in fact enable it by your choice, and at your will.

not a dumb question, but yes if its installed, you can enable it. there are differences of opinion of the performance on each of the cache engines. the fact that we have them is beneficial and a great asset to the dynamics of this platform.

You can't hurt anything by trying different cache methods. As to which one's best, that would largely depend on your site and server resources. Some cache methods use the server's memory. They are the fastest, but if your site is very busy it will eat up all your memory and crash the server! File disc caching is probably the most robust when it comes to a busy site as it caches to the servers HDD so doesn't consume RAM. It might burn the HDD out though Laughing
