content management system suggestions

hi guys.. any suggestions on what would be a good content management system to work with Dolphin. It should be able to have good capability to set up deep content classifications and ofcourse efficient content storage. If it can also encrypt the content, that would be great.

Thanks,

not exactly sure what your end result is supposed to be, but just a thought - have you thought about duplicating the Groups module and using that for your content. As an example. I have a module called books - which is just a duplicate of the Groups module) in which users can enter a keyword and search for books (using Google API), and then import the information by clicking a button, into the site and it is displayed. Then, users still have the same function of adding photos, files, sounds, or videos for that book, as well as the forum for that book.

If you could provide a little more information someone may be able to give you a better answer.

Hi Prof.. thx for the reply.. the content management system will be used by my code. It will not be exposed to the users. It will used to store content with proper classification. Say e.g. under shoes would be men's shoes, women's shoes.. under women's shoes could be slippers, stiletoes.. etc... under men's shoes cud be sports, formal wear, casual wear shoes etc..

my code will make its calculations based on the certain classifications and what the user has asked for and accordingly display content for the user.

Holy Smokes - you blew my mind with that one. I guess it doesn't help to be inebriated. Well, one thought comes to mind: Create a php page with the questions. Then you could run sql queries to retrieve the information that you want and then display that information any way you want to. So, using your example, and as a rough draft, I would:

A. Create the sections and questions on a php page and use javascript for sub questions.(Section Shoes - Question: Mens or Ladies. If Mens is checked, then the questions for men appear. If Ladies is checked, then the questions for ladies appear).

B. Now using php blocks, you could code sql queries and create blocks to display whatever you want to display. (If the User chose Ladies - Stilletos, then on the home page would be a block with a pic of a nice pair of Lady stilletos).

I hope I am not too far off based and hope this helps.

hi prof.. we r a bit off sync.. look the cms as purely a content management system, where i can store content as per classifications.. thats what a cms does.. now a few that i know are wordpress, drupal and joomla. But not too sure if its a good idea to go for them. Seems like they do a lot more than basic content management.

You are right abt the query forming part. My code will form that query. After that it will connect to the cms and the query will be executed inside the cms engine and result retrieved. Thing is i don't want to manage the content in mysql and file  system. I want a proper cms for it. It comes with many out of the box stuff catering specifically on the subject of content management, which i will need as i and the system grow.

ah - I gotcha now. You are looking for something that would be like Dolphin, not a module within dolphin. Oops - sorry.

It sounds to me like you need an inventory management system to interface to.. perhaps one that you can build an api for.

yup.. a content classification and storage system.

There are a number of free inventory/stock management platforms available, but not knowing your exact application, it's hard to say if any of them would be a good fit.  They may have a lot of built in features that are useless to you.

Have you looked on Codecanyon.com ?

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
