cant login after moving to anyother host

i have moved my site from a shared hosting to a dedicated server and

now i cant login to the site as user or admin. also the admin panel login

isnt working. i see the "Please wait..." message and then get redirected

to the login page. this happens on normal and admin panel login.

you could test it on www.socialhams.net with

user: modtester

pw: modtester.

any idea how to fix this??

Has the directory structure changed at all? Still using the same DB Host, username, password? If not try editing /inc/header.inc.php.

i have edited everything in header.inc.php which has to be changed ... i have no clue whats

going on here ... the rest of the site is working without no problem, but i cant login to it.

i get no error or something, i just get redirected to login page

 your right about the redirect using the login info you provide.

While trying to make a new account the final join page with your captcha is failing to work.

ok, didnt try to create a new one yet ...

 also, doing a search for the name you provide "modtester"

some how, I think your getting erroneous text input.

I mean why would the captcha input be wrong? You can see I entered the exact captcha but it returns a wrong value.

I have a site that has hummed along since .4 but now I'm getting a few errors like you.

I cannot pin it down yet, as it is happening on several sites now, these sites all have 3rd party templates...

[edit] I might add, these crazy problems have been b4 upgrades to .9

so, might i update to .9? should this be possible?

upgrading to 7.0.9 works as a solution!

no it dont ... it asks me for license code and then i am redirected to login form again!

there is a problem in your site cookies it doesn't set the memberSession cookie when someone visit your site. Or even better it sets memberID cookie value 1597 and i don't think its the member id of the user you provided. Is it?

this member ID 1597 is ok for user modtester ...

but still there should be a memberSession cookie when someone visit your site. At least it happened  on my site.

I know you probably already tried this but I have to give it a shot anyway. Did you delete everything from /cache and /cache_public after the move?

erasing the cache wont help ... tried it now and 100000 times before ;)

ok, but how get it to create a session cookie?

i tried to enter a wrong password, the site responds that it is wrong, so the data get sent to the server ...

 I also thought that but i thought he must have done that. cache directorys are the first place to attack.

 Edit: and i don't know where the cookies are set from till now. but will try to find. :)

try to replace inc/classes/BxDolSession.php file with original file maybe your file got damaged during migration. 

didnt help :(

oh! this error is annoying. try replacing inc/classes/BxDolSessionQuery.php and clear.....i think you know...:)

and clear the sys_sessions table in DB.

varnish was caching sites with cookies also
