auto-update/refresh for comments

Would it be very difficult to have comments auto-update/refresh when someone left a new comment on a blog post, or other content areas?  I use to be on a social network where as new comments were left the page auto-updated without one having to refresh the page to see if new comments had been left.  It greatly increased the interaction between members.
