accounts being deactivated

I have had two users on my site looking around editing their profiles and about 30 min. go bys and their accounts are deactivated.  Right now I have everything setup to need no email confirmation but I sent one anyways and they confirmed. But they keep getting desactivated  Anyone else running into this problem?

They are adjusting their profiles. When they do, it sets their membership into 'approval' mode. It requires an admin to 'approve it' and set the account active. You can disable it in the admin section but I recommend against it. It's designed to keep them from changing profile details, like email addresses.

just disable it  and in /administration/fields.php -- edit profiles -- simply remove any items you don't want them to edit

where do I disable that in the admin?  I looked everywhere.  Thanks  Also when I disable this will this also keep their profile active even if they change their avatar?

You'll find the moderation (profile activation) settings under administration > settings > moderation settings. If you're talking about the profile fields, you can edit them from administration > builders > profile fields.

Thank you...just saw that... :-)  One more thing, can you make everyones profile "FRIENDS ONLY"  from the get go but allow people to see their profile picture and enable "Befriend" ONLY?

I'm not aware of any way to do this besides some form of a modification. Someone else may be able to chime in on this.

Ok, how come I never thought of that?

Maybe I'm not taking enough of my Prolaznik pills (or was that Prozak, I can never remember)

Ok, wait a minute, That's not gonna work either! If you remove the email address field from the edit profile, then they cannot update their email addresses if they change and after a little time, you will STILL end up with a bunch of profiles with bad email addresses./
