Why join text editing.

Hi, I am trying to edit the Why Join text on the join now page. I did a search for it in the forum and looked at this post - http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/?action=goto&search=1#topic/Quick-Q-how-can-we-change-the-why-join-statement-.htm - and edited the _login_form_description2join in the language settings as instructed. But it is comming up in the login screen. Can someon tell me what to search for in the language settings to edit this?

Highlight the existing Why Join text, or even just part of it, and drop it in the search box on language keys. That should pull up the key you need to edit. And don't forget to clear your cache, that usually fixes any language keys that aren't showing up as edited.

Hey thanks for the answer but now I got another problem after doing this. Now the left side of the site is extending out past the frame. It just started after I tried editing this. To see what I mean go to http://ncgiveaway.com . I am in the process of changing the domain name setting up the site.

That is a coincidence.

Go into page builders, bring up the home page.

Look at your page width. Then go to the bottom and look at what is called Other page width. I think you will find that the two widths are different.

I don't know what you mean by "extending out past the frame." Are you referring to the Navigation Menu? The language keys don't change the formatting, only the words. It has to be something else that changed that.

p.s. I noticed a typo on your site, it should say- "create your own groups"

Thanks for the replies. I don't know how that happened I never even touched the page with on any of the pages. And thanks for the heads up on the spelling. Forgot to put it through a spell check first. My spelling is terrible.

Wow, I cant believe I am having so much problems with this. I did as was sugested above and copied the text in the why join. I placed it in the manage Keys/ look for search box. it came up I then selected all and pasted my text into it and saved it. Said it was succesfull. Went to the site and nothing changed. Cleared cash just to make sure. no change. Went back to the search and tried it again. Nothing comes up on the search. Tried the new text that I put in. Nothing. Does somone know the exact language key that I can look up and see if I can find it? It's like its not even there.

this key ->   _why_join_desc    if your talking about right column why join.     this key -> _login_form_description2join  is for login popup box.

Delete the contents of cache, cache_public and the tmp folders manually from ftp or cpanal.

Then verify all 3 of those folders have writable permissions, mode 777

Then make sure the langs folder also has write permissions. Do not empty the contents of it, just verify the permissions.

Due to your problems with languages not updating and other issues with your template, i suspect something is up with the permissions preventing the system from properly updating and changes are made.

Thanks, That did it.

This is realy wierd though. It was working correctly to start with. All of a sudden it stoped. You were correct on the permisions not being set right they were at 755 but must have been 777 at one time for it to have worked corectly. Then while I was in my cpanel I saw a folder for splashpages. Just out of curiosity I checked it out. It is a splash page that I had made up for my old site. I just deleted the old site yesterday and installed the newest version. I havent even touched that folder to reupload it. Making a totaly different site. It wasn't there when I looked at the site yesterday in my cpanel. How did it get there and the permisions change. Is my host messing with me or something? Wierd
