Why am I getting \n in posts on my profile wall. Why?

I received a message on my wall that was the following.

"Hey,\n\nWhat\'s going on, I hope that you will be coming tomorrow!!!!!\n\nSimon"

Could anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it. I am using version 7.0.5

i can tell you what it is, but as to why its happening, i dont know.

the \n is an escape character for CRLF, so you were sent something like:

Hey,

whats going on (notice the two CRLF's)

are you using a default template, have you applied any 3rd party mods, have you done any hacks to the source?

i have a fresh 7.0.5 install and tried to replicate the issue, was not able to reproduce, so not sure why you are getting the escape character on stdout.

I have made some minor change to the template, non of them were out side of the header and subheader area. I mainly changed graphics. nothing to do with the wall at all.

Do you know which know which files would affect this area of the wall so that I could replace them?

are you running the uni template or a custom template. switch to uni if you are not using it and see if this persists?

I'm currently using the UNI template.

My site is almost ready to launch yet, just a few things to iron out. So what I will try  is uninstalling the wall and re-install it.

im not sure that uninstalling the wall will have any affect. the wall gets its information, most likely from the plugins directory for the TINYMCE.

deano would most likely know about what is going on here, or HL, but if HL posts a video, make sure he does not post mp4 ~~~:)
