Where's the JOIN page SAVING notification TICK OFFS it's NOT there!

Ok, missing parts are very annoying...

not only does windows not diplay a loading sign on the top or the bottom when you hit submit after you enter in your data on the join page..

it just sits there doing nothing for quite some time...

not only did i keep pressing the sumbit button to get something to happen so did all my other users.

some of which got fed up and logged off...

there should be a proccessing circle bar or please wait on this when you hit submit or people think

nothing is happening at all... is there a quick fix for this problem? I hope so.

should not really need a status indicator for the join form, it shouldnt take but a few seconds. what happens most times, and unless you have a form field validator, is that it can error out on a mandatory field, but not be immediately visible. so if the join form is not firing, i would look for a 'red exclamation point' on one or more of the fields. either that or watch your logs, and see if you can track down any errors?

no really it sits there.. does not show any page loading on internet exporer statistics..

for a good 2 minutes before it is actually processed.

no one can tell if it is doing anything. I tried this myself

ok a couple of things on this and i know you dont want to hear that is the issue of the server, but take a look around at other dolphin sites and see how fast their join forms are processing. its rather instantaneous. so if you are facing a lag, this could be due to your machine, and/or connection.

considering that you dont have a 50 question join form. i would tend to think that to join a site should not require answering a life history report, just join, but then the profile would need to be completed once they have been activated.

You're ignoring the repeated suggestions to check both your computer's configuration and the network connection (such as throttling, or very low upload/download/bandwidth speeds).

the card is on full duplex 100 (at max speed)

the speed now is 1meg up and 15 meg down streams.

as for isp throttling i'll have to look into it on monday.

I recommend you make sure who you switched to actually allows (and supports) the hosting of websites on their network this time. You shouldn't be cheap, which is why you were having so many problems last time. I also see you're threatening to sue your previous provider because you violated their terms and suffered downtime at the hands of a network meant for home network connections.

what the heck are you talking about.

I have always hosted my own server.

spent 1000s on server programs.

I'm not about to throw that away and have someone else serve it and steal data.

my data is confidential only to me and my server.

I don't think you quite get it...

Your server could be mis-configured..

I have a home server , have two accounts with Arvixe and two with Hostdime, none of these are slow, I might add Hostdime is not configured to run Dolphin but is works perfect..

I'm referring to your network provider. If you want to host your site at home, that's fine, but you'll need the following:

  • a server properly configured for hosting websites
  • a network connection that is specifically for businesses and/or hosting websites on a server

You've had nothing but trouble connection-wise, which can be due to a number of factors, including a router (if in use), firewall, and the supplier of the network connection itself. You can have server-grade hardware, but it's useless if the network isn't designed for the purpose you're using it for.

I should also mention that your website is loading much faster now, but it's still somewhat slow compared to other sites being properly hosted. I looked into it, and it would now appear that you've switched from Shaw Communications to Telus Communications.

I would look over the entirety of my operations, from hardware, to software, to network, but that's just me. I've hosted resource-intensive sites (like Dolphin 7) on computers far less powerful than the one you're claiming to use, and have served content far faster than your site. It all comes down to configuration (software) and network.
