When the privacy of a wide middle wall column is set to friends only

When the privacy of a main wall item in a wide middle column is set to friends only of course the column itself disappears and the left and right side columns then appear next to each other (when viewed by non-friends). Is there any way of retaining the middle column's width and inserting an HTML block to say "this profile has set their wall to friends only" when the main wall item is set to that privacy?

I don't think it's possible, i.e. a replacement item for when one item is hidden under privacy. What do you think?
