What is the accurate URL to a manual?

I'm finding how to's to be out of date.

http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/TutorialHowToWorkWithIconsAndImages

is there a better manual for Dolphin current?

e.g. How do I fix this mess?

I should mention that I am using the default Dolphin template, but I did add the 1Col module. not sure why.

I follow the manual which says promo images should be 994x262. Even smaller height, it overlaps the Hello Admin box. Still looking to change the color behind Hello Admin!

(I just found another source that suggests the color bar behind Hello Admin! is supposed to be there - which is ridiculous because if the rotating images are click through ads to sponsors, than I can't be overlaying garbage on top of the advertiser's ad.  Guess I'll need to go toe route of the PH block?!?!?)

What is the white area above the promo rotator called?

Why does clicking on the (green image) just reload the page???? If anything, I would want a click to go to the site relevant to the image (ad/sponsor banner).

I've cleared the cache.

Do I have to hack into the php file, or is there a manual?

There is no full manual.

Look at http://demo.boonex.com/

That is how the promo area is supposed to look. Watch the demo as the images are rotated through.

The white bar at the bottom is indeed supposed to be there. The Buttons such as login join on the right and the welcome to the community message for guests, or the avatar photo for members sit on top of that bar. And the promo images are behind it. The purpose of the white bar is to make the buttons in the foreground stand out and prevent clashing with the background images.

Watch the demo sites images scroll through. See how the white bar is partially transparent so the images partially show through.

It was designed the way it is. It was designed for promo images for your own website. It was not designed for advertizing use for 3'rd party ads, click-through ads, ads that are not to be covered.

To use it for anything else other than what it was designed for would require rewrites to the code that generates the promo area.

bad "design" to waste that real estate, or to tell me that for $99 I can't use the software.

1) It looks like an error.

2) I can't be covering up the bottom 10% of a banner ad there (that the green bar represents). I can't be stepping on the toes of an advertiser.

So I'll try the PHP block option.

I did the HTML block area.  Took 2 tries.  Your help n a post from 2010 made it work.  (Can't just type here in this box, need to type in the pop-up box created by clicking HTML above!)

No more hotspot, that clicks to itself! To cause a page refresh to itself!

the cold hard truth about the path to a manual is http://www.doesnotexist-hasneverexisted-willneverexist.com

JT wrote a manual for Dolphin 6, but the publishers would not accept the book about Dolphin 7, amazing
