What about sabam & simim?

I just bought internet radio & internet video, and i want to ask which problems i can have with this.
I must pay SABAM & SIMIM? Or other instantions.

Not sure what the names of these departments are, but they all want a share. You need to be really careful with that, in the Netherlands you get charged per channel, meaning if you give your visitors the option to listen to several radio stations, you will have to pay for each stream. And this to both the artist and the composer of the song (in the Netherlands these are two seperate entities).

Strangly enough, the radiostations you're visitors are listening to, also have to pay that same fee.

I think it's sad, making people pay twice for the same content and still crying about getting ripped off by people downloading from illegal sources. Not to mention records where first given away for free as a way of promoting bands.
