Warning! PageView cache cannot be evaluated. Please recompile.

Hi to all,

Im doing a cpanel backup with my site and i was trying to install my website locally and migrated the database and it was successfully done without errors. According to boonex guide when transferring a site to another folder/server you just need to edit 2 values in 'inc/header.inc.php' which i change it to my local settings correctly.

However when i load the page it displays this error "Warning! PageView cache cannot be evaluated. Please recompile."

I have searched other post regarding this error but it says that i needed to login to admin and change the page view or move the blocks and the error will be gone. In my case i cannot login to admin as it is only showing a blank page with no errors.

Have you cleared the /cache, cache_public, and /tmp directories via ftp?

Yes, i have cleared those folders

A blank page means an error is occurring but the errors are not being shown because the server your moving it to most likely has php setup to log errors instead of displaying them.

You will need to change that option or look at the log files for the errors that are occurring.

Thank you deano, i have configured my server to show all errors and it shows that the cache, cache_public and tmp folders have no write permissions. So i changed it to 777 and now my local dev site is running smooth.

Thank you guys,

Best regards

Ok. This would indicate that the permissions were not preserved when the site was moved.

You will run into a lot more problems eventually. Such as uploading photos, avatars, music, deleting or editing existing content, ect.

If those permissions were off, then i am guessing all of the permissions that are set during the install process are also incorrect.

Yes, my pictures wont display in the gallery but avatars did show up. Maybe this is a permission issue for my end. I will check it again later.

Thank you.

Best Regards
