Video problem. Error - file not found

Hi all

Im still pretty new to Dolphin - its a great piece of kit, I have to say but I have noticed a problem with videos. My site isnt officially live yet, as I am working on the branding and getting the back end all set up correctly.

Images appear to upload and display fine but videos are the issue.

I uploaded a test video and got the following error when I press play -

Error! File not found

The video must have uploaded, because the small thumb appears but the video doesnt play. My host has all the current features to run dolphin, and my FFPEG exe is set to 777 as I read through this http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Dolphin-7-RC-Video-Upload-File-Not-Found-Error.htm thread but couldnt make any sense of it.

Any help welcome please

thanks for the reply. Still no joy. Do i post ALL this in the first cron line? /usr/bin/php -c /home/sitedir/public_html/php.ini -q /home/sitedir/public_html/periodic/cron.php

Or do i split it into two single lines

/usr/bin/php -c /home/sitedir/public_html/php.ini -q

/home/sitedir/public_html/periodic/cron.php

Adding my root in to the mix of course

With what you posted, it should be one single command line like this:

/usr/bin/php -c /home/sitedir/public_html/php.ini -q /home/sitedir/public_html/periodic/cron.php

Make sure you set your day, month, etc.. to all stars   *    *   *   *   *

hey thanks for your help

still no joy. The videos are not in the failed section earlier, so they must be there. The files did upload but I still get the error message :(

Try putting the word 'local' in your php command. Like:

/usr/local/bin/php -c /home/sitedir/public_html/php.ini -q /home/sitedir/public_html/periodic/cron.php

It's a permission issue. many have had it. Check to make sure your php will allow exe files to run and also recheck all your permisisons again. Folders should be either 777 or 755 (depending on your OS). Also make sure your user account has the right to execute and access these files. (have seen that happen)

are you in a shared environment or VPS/Dedicated?

Hi

I am on a shared host right now but it meets all the requirements to run Dolphin. I checkec the 'host tools' in the admin section and everything is in place and correct.

I've checked the permissions and again, they are all correct. the FFMPEG (or whatever its called) is set to 777 and the files directory is set to 755. Still no joy

*** UPDATE ***
I think I have found the problem. If I upload an flv video, it wont play and appears to confuse the system I think. If I upload a .MOV or any other file, it uploads and converts fine and importanly, plays!

I still have this issue- the chron and all file permissions seem to be correct, but I get this error message on almost any format.  Can anyone think of anything else to try?
