Use Paypal to a Boonex site, Dating site...

Maybe this can be one thing you should know before buying Boonex.

Many may think, what the hell good Boonex is with Paypal as a payment option. But it is not as easy as many may think. To use Paypal to a Boonex dating site, you must be pre-reviewed by Paypal. Perhaps some think this is not true? But so it is. And yes, maybe it gets approved eventually, but it takes time. And it is not cheap.

How do you do? Well you have to submit your site to euaup@paypal.co.uk to be review by them. And then then you have to wait. After a few weeks they'll call you. And an email sent to you with instructions how you can start with Paypal as a payment option.

This what they will say!

And there are some here who sell their products on the market that only work with Paypal.

Not easy and not cheap to be approved by Paypal. What happens if you ignore this then. Well if they'll check you so your account will be suspended. And you can never open a Paypal account again.

erm..... I just put my paypal payment email in the settings of any mod / site and it works.

Only approval you would need is if making a paypal app.

If paypal are making it difficult to take you money then thats a first! ;-)

sounds like a big can of spam to me.

To create a paypal account, anyone can do that on paypal. But if you start using your Boonex dating site with Paypal, you have to be pre-reviewed from Paypal to receive money via your Boonex dating site.

Sure, you can open a Paypal account and then fill in your email in the admin panel on your Boonex site but then you are violating PayPal's policy that you have to be pre-reviewed before you can use Paypal on your Boonex dating site.

If they found out that you are using your Boonex dating site with your email with out a pre-review from Paypal you will get your Paypal account close and you can never open a account again.

If you don't believe me? Ask Paypal in your account ''contact us'' or email here.

(Ask, what is Paypal's policy for receive payment with a dating site with Paypal?)

Yes Boonex made it look very easy. In the admin section you just have to insert your paypal email address but it's not so simple. Paypal have user policy and regulations against dating sites on internet.

But Boonex never will tell you this. And the developers of Boonex made it look so easy. Just to put in your Paypal email in the payment section of your Boonex site and start accept payment for your dating site.

But here is the policy of Paypal.

Dolphin is more of a social network/community script these days, so the average site is unaffected. I'm sorry to see you've had difficulties with PayPal. Dolphin also includes 2Checkout, which supports dating sites, although requires its own review. There may be other payment providers in the market with more relaxed rules.

I'm talking about the average Dolphin site. In your case, it looks like PayPal didn't agree with something on the site - that's not BoonEx's problem. Your options are to make amends with PayPal or use a different gateway. Have you tried 2Checkout?

Also, I'm a volunteer moderator. Not with BoonEx.

Dolphin including a certain gateway does not mean that all sites will be fine using it. Some Dolphin sites include content that violates the terms for some gateways, like adult content. Each Dolphin site is different. For example, a community site for wood carvings would have no problem with PayPal, but an adult hookup site might. All I can suggest is to use a different gateway for your site.

Yes i understand that. But Paypal have the same regulation against all the dating sites that want to use Paypal.

Send your link to Paypal.

They will contact you with information and a you have to pay 1000USD to accept Paypal as payment gateway.

The apply form from Mastercard is for everyone not just my site. This is for everyone that want to use Paypal. It doesn't matter what kind of website or what it look like.

No it's not Boonex fault so far. But they make it look so easy to sell more. I was fool here litle.

Quote · 27 Nov 2013

Ok here we go again.

I wish i could be nice here to Boonex but i can't.

I just got a new email from Paypal.

I ask them if this regulation is only for dating sites?

Paypal tell me that the policy is also for community and for dating sites that want to use Paypal as a payment gateway.

Paypal tell me that if you want to charge for membership on your community and dating sites you have to be pre reviewd by paypal first.

And its not easy as i told you here before.

First you have send your link to aup@paypal.com and wait for the info and then pay 1000USD and fill in the form from Mastercards. After that they will review your site.

And it has nothing to do want kind of website you have. This concern all sites of community and dating sites that want to charge for membership.

Evidently the problem lies with MasterCard.

Perhaps the gripe is that there are not enough payment gateways built into Dolphin?  PayPal is nice because it is one of the cheapest credit card processors out there; however, it is not the only one.  Look into the adult site processors for your dating site, they don't have the hang-ups some of the others have.

Just to bring this in some, this term goes back to 2011; looks like several BoonEx modules will get you into trouble then.

i.e. Modzzz "Escorts" uses paypal to pay for services, there are many more but this one I know of, I think if paypal were to discover these transactions the account holder would be in violation.

It sounds like a large number of sites out there could be suspended that are presently using PayPal.  Probably would be a good idea for many of us to look at alternative system just in case the PayPal silver hammer comes down upon our heads.

interesting if this is something they are actively looking for, or if its just something  in their 'guidelines' so to speak...

Whats all this got to do with Mastercard though?

Also, I don't see where the $1000 payment comes into it... I've setup a number of paypal apps for other sites using different payment techniques... paypal have always gone out their way to get any integrations done smooth as they want your business. Never had any mention of paying them anything in advance of using their services... they make more than enough after integration!

What decent alternatives are there?

Google checkout is on its way out I think,

Amazon checkout is quite popular with some sites.

I thought so too but just the other day read where they are going to offer a debit card to your account the same as PayPal does.  I had a Google Checkout account; lost the password to it though; that was back when they first started.

I would only think it is for sites that are brought to their attention like the fallout recently some us had with adsense and chat pages, when someone complains then your scrutinized and either terminated or warned.

Correction: Google Checkout is already dead. It was replaced with Google Wallet a while back, and the Checkout service and APIs for sellers were killed off in early November.

Ok! i got some new updates here from Paypal. They did cal me again and inform me some new information. Very strange they could't say this be email.

Here what they say. If you want to accept MasterCard with your website. You have to apply with this form i told you about before. But they say it's ok to use Paypal with out MasterCard for your website. But if you decide not to use MasterCard after this pre review from Paypal and not pay this application form of 1000USD. As a one time fee. And later on you decide you want to have MasterCard for some other website. You cannot have them no more. Your account is close for MasterCard. You only get one chans to have MasterCard to your account. But now you can accept payment from all other cards and banks for your payment to your website.

So, it's ok to use PayPal to your dating website and community but they want an pre review and if it's not an adult it will be accepted they say.
