Upgrading 7.05 to 7.05

Anyone see any issues with me re-installing my upgrade over the existing one? I cannot seem to solve this menu problem that won;t let me access any of my mods and I'm grabbing at straws. Will the process complete once it notices 7.05 already exists?

Probably.  If it doesn't, then the DB may try to overwrite or duplicate the db changes that the upgrade to .5 makes.

It most likely would not complete. Do you have a 7.0.4 full backup with database? If so, you could revert back to a 7.0.4 backup and then upgrade.

All I know is this. I have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get this script to a level where I felt it would be ok to actually advertise for new members. I have not attained that goal. In fact, I am so FAR AWAY from that goal that I am EMBARRASSED by the problems people have when they come to join my site.

I fix one issue, then there's another, then Boonex releases some piece of crap 'update' that replaces all the old problems (that have mostly been worked out finally by me) with a whole set of new problems. Now I try and get help for what appears to be a major scripting flaw or bug and I am told by them I will need to 'create a support ticket' and PAY for their help.

Here's a novel concept. Just fix the bugs and TEST each fix to MAKE SURE they don't create NEW bugs. (not that hard to understand, is it?)

Now, in the last 6 months or so, I have come to one startling revelation. There is not a SINGLE stock Boonex mod for Dolphin that is complete and usable out of the box. They ALL have major shortcomings that even I, as a tow truck driver, can spot. Why? Because they want to sell mods to bring them up to a level of functionality that would be considered OK by the average internet aficionado! It's a great business model, for them.... but certainly not for us.

I have made mention of the word 'Boonex' to many of my friends who are not members here and it seems that outside the circle of people on this site, that word has a whole different meaning. Most notably, the one word that most use to describe this script is 'difficult'. Who the hell has time for 'difficult?'

Between the mods I have bought and the coding I have purchased from different individuals, I have spent nearly $5000 on this bugaboo, and that doesn't even include my server costs.

Now I am going to try and fix this current problem one more time. One of two things are going to happen. Either I am going to be successful or I will fail. If I am successful, I am not going to do any further 'upgrades' to my site. I am going to focus strictly on getting what I have functional and removing the features that are not and then letting the site run it's course until it finally fails or falls behind. OR, I am going to DUMP the entire project and load up a static site to host a PHPBB forum like I should have done in the first god damned place.

Yell

Do NOT run the upgrade script again.

Ok. I won't. Thanks...

I looked at the sql for the upgrade script, and there's too good of a chance that you'll trash the db with multiple entries, and the script would probably halt on the first sql error it encountered anyway.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it really does look like a self inflicted injury, and if there ever was  a time to "create a support ticket' and PAY for their help"... this is it.   I wish I had a better suggestion, but I don't..... unless your hosting company can pull a rabbit out of their hat, and come up with a recent backup.
