URGENT: Issues with Chat in 7.0.4

After upgrading to 7.0.4, the chat still worked with old RMS.  However, you could not add or edit rooms.

When old RMS crashed (which it usually does every few days if you have a lot of people chatting), it had to be restarted as usual.

However, now that I'm still connecting to old RMS, I cannot create any rooms.  That means the chat cannot be used.  It has no rooms.

So I disconnected the RMS. Problem Solved?  It appears the new chat for 7.0.4 cannot create permanent rooms, even disconnected from RMS.

Even I as the administrator can't create permanent rooms.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I did the upgrade to D7.0.4 After the 7th time of trying the upgrade i finally got it right, but this was because of my cpanel issues that i had to install so many times. But now my site is all up to date and all works very well including my chat.

@ JasonVan - Do you run your own RMS? If so, it states that 7.0.4 requires the new RMS as well.

Step 8: Dolphin 7.0.4 requires new Media Server, please reinstall media server or ask your hosting support to provide you connection settings to Media Server v.7.0.4. You can download new media server here.

I'm waiting for my hosting company to offer the new RMS.  I was using their old RMS.  They say they are working on it.

I'm not at all surprised that the chat doesn't function properly with the old RMS.  However, I'm surprised that the chat

doesn't function properly when I disconnect the RMS.  Even without RMS, I cannot create create permanent chat rooms

(even as admin).

Shouldn't the chat work like normal when the RMS is not connected.  This would mean that the admin should be able to create

permanent chat rooms.

Yeah, I am not sure whether or not when creating a chatroom, how it would identify you as the admin when you are adding a new room from the Site's main chat area.. Are you going in through Modules > Flash Apps> A/V Chat > Admin when you create the rooms? If not, try that.

Now there shouldn't be a lot of rooms, since all rooms which are created by regular users are deleted automatically when there is no people in it - this is new option in 7.0.4 and it is enabled by default.

Anyway this ticket is addressed and fix will be in future versions, most probably in 7.0.5:

Not sure if the regular users exclude the Admin :)

I think this may just be a glitch on my site.

I tried my other Dolphin 7.0.4 site, and as an administrator I could create permanent chat rooms.

I guess I will have to do some troubleshooting.

I am experiencing the same problem in 7.0.5?  Any ideas?

you cannot install  over the same copy on linux..

I installed a fresh copy of RMS updated version. They will not run together on the same computer, at least I was not able to configure it, and why would you need the older version.
