Too many files in one folder?

A couple of years ago, experimenting Dolphin 6x, I actually hit a limit on how many graphic files can be in a single folder.  It appears that 7.x has changed it's photo management logic so that photos uploaded by users all go into the photos/files/data folder.  One folder to contain all photos?  Any concerns?

It seems to me that I recall hitting the ceiling at 30k photos with 6.1 (and they were really small footprints).  Just seems like it makes more sense to allocate a dedicated folder to each unique profile id.  No?

Ext3 filesystem limit:

The max number of subdirectories in one directory is fixed to 32000.

So it not good idea to "allocate a dedicated folder to each unique profile id."

The limit for number of files in Ext3:

If V is the volume size in bytes, then the default number of inodes is given by V/213

For example for 100Gb volume it is ..... very big number !
