To build on this forum (vendor absent scheduler)

I was thinking maybe it is an idea to build a absent scheduler or table that shows when or if a developer or vendor can't be reached! That way we can overcome lots of drama and forum posts why he or she isn't responding.

shows why developer can't be reached

example: 1: holiday, 2: sick leave, 3:other reason

so Dolphins, what do you of this idea?

Sounds like a good idea, it could be added to the vendor's page.  A vendor can simply change the current notice.

available

away due to illness,

away on holiday

whatever could help to know.  with illness, we know that the away period could be of some undetermined time.  Something to kick around and think about.

GG, that is even better when you look at the vendor's page.
I hope they embrace this idea !!

Vendor can already set a auto responder. Some use it others do not. Of course, it all depends on how dedicated to service and keeping their customers informed. Also, matters if they have others who can handle the business while they are away. If they are solo then that would be more difficult. Business hours would be effective. Vacation messages also.

I agree with you Solusoft, better communication would be useful and professional. I personally believe there are issues with alerts to vendors on Dolphin. Subscribing to topics are not forwarded, but only available by logging into Boonex. I cannot tell you how many times, alternate emails needed to be sent directly.

Itsawhiz the auto respond email is not enough i think.
I want to able to see if a developer or vendor has a time out or is not able to respond.

that way it saves me sending a email or post something on the forum and a headache :-)

Yes, the autoresponder only kicks in after you have typed this long message and hit send.  I find the autoresponder message in those cases a bit aggravating.  if I had know beforehand that no one might be getting my message for weeks, I could have save myself the time and effort.

Edit: after posting a question came to my mind.  Is there a way to check to see if a module is installed or not?  If so, then the bit about the forum should check to see if the forum module is installed, if installed, show, if !installed, hide.
