Third Party Ads Module

I want to post advertisements, similar to the Boonex Ads Module.

The problem is with Boonex Module is you cannot create ads from the admin console.

I want ads, but only ones we create...

1) Create special membership and assign it to admin >>> allow this membership to post ads

2) Stop all other memberships from being able to post ads and remove page 'my ads' from the profile sub-menu etc

OK, you still need to add the ads the usual method BUT it will stop others from being able to add ads and only the admin.

Good trick!

Also it looks like somebody may have a module available so I want to take a look at that too :)

One question...

Is there a way to get it to not show up in the store?

Thanks!

I'm not too sure at moment as I have removed the memberships from my own sites .... I'm sure I managed to hide 'ceo membership' I setup before ... Maybe it could be commented out from relevant files ?!

if you disable the membership level after changing the admin account to that membership level, it will stop it from being displayed. Not sure if it will affect the actual account with that membership level. Another idea is to go into the database - sys_acl_levels - and make that membership level unpurchaseable.

When I deleted membership that was set for everyone it seemed to cause many small issues, so I am not sure deleting membership fully is good idea ....

What I did...

http://www.domain.com/modules/boonex/ads/classifieds.php

Allowed me to access the module directly without having any menus on the site.

This way the ads show without having to deal with the members having to see a menu that does not really have a choice for them...  :)

A real ads module would allow you  to specify a specific end date.

A real ads module would allow you to create ads from the back end.

A real ads module would notify the advertiser when their ad was about to run out.

Modzzz- are you reading this?
