The invite prorcess....

When I send an invite to someone to join my site in my mindset I should automatically be a "friend" with that person when and if they join.  Did I overlook where to configure that or is that not an option?

I see that as an admin I am automatically a friend I am talking about a user inviting a user.

I am wondering if it is just me...a mistake I made customizing or what...

I'm confused about this feature as well.

When I first signed on here, I read something about when you set the system to "join by invitation" was set, you get some link in a mail and you are able to join the site.

I guess this would be good for adult sites and such; I hope one of the Administrators will chime in here and answer this mystery, hope I'm not off topic.

It's not a free fix, but you can get the extension Ultimate Referrals and have it set to automatically friend members w/ their invitees.

When viewing your profile, you can click the share button and send an invitation to whoever you wish via email. It's an odd way to word it, but that's how it's done. When the person follows the link to the site, they are able to navigate to the join form and join the site. It's actually a very basic system, and anyone who knows how Dolphin works can create their own invitation without the need of an email being sent.
