Steps for Moving D7 from one site to another?

Hello Everyone,

I have successfully moved my licensed site using the following steps, but my new site keeps redirecting to my old site?  Can someone please tell me what I missed?  Thanks

Step 1:  Moved all files with permissions settings intact from one site to another site.

Step 2:  Exported and imported Database.

Step 3:  Updated inc/header.inc.php with new $site['url'], $dir['root'] and $db

Step 4:  Cleared cache directories:  cache, cache_public and tmp

Step 5:  Kept .htaccess files intact.

Step 6:  Navigated to newsite.com/inc/header.inc.php

Step 7:  Reset Boonex License at www.boonex.com.

After following these steps, my new site keeps redirecting to my old site.  I cannot access the Administration panel.

Thanks for any assistance in what I missed.

New Site Specs:  Boonex/Dolphin 7.1 Version.  The new site is on the same server that the old boonex site was working perfectly.  So, there is not a capability issue between Boonex and my Server.  The only change is the domain name.

Take a look at the server configs; vhosts, etc.  What web server are you using?

Don't see the step where you pointed the vhost to the new site.

When you say keeps redirecting to the old site, do you mean you go to the new site and then get redirected to the old site?; explain this redirection.

Edit: I seemed to have missed the "The only change is the domain name."

So you have a new domain name but when you type in the domain it goes to the old site and not the new?  Give some detail on the redirection you are seeing.  Where does it happen?  When does it happen?  I would still think the problem lies in the server config.

Give us some details on the type of server, hosting, cPanel, webmin, etc.

I would have to agree. Seems the new domain is not pointed to the proper folder.

Hi Everyone...thanks for the posts Laughing

For some bizarro reason, Filezilla, did not overrite the inc/header.inc.php file with the new site information when I uploaded it twice last night.  Which is the reason my site was redirecting to my old site.  But today, I re-uploaded the inc/header.inc.php file and now my new site works perfectly.

I have the best webhosting provider, http://www.pacifichost.com.  They have the best customer service and will help out whenever possible. Boonex runs smoking fast on their servers.

I have seen problems with Filezilla as well and I am thinking it is time for it to go.  One time it skipped a file during upload and just the other day a site that loaded fine stopped loading with it.

Since you advertised the host, provide a bit more information about what account you are using with Dolphin;  is it a dedicated server?  Someone looking for a host might benefit from the knowledge.

Looking at the Pacifichost dedicated server plans, they seem a bit pricey for what you get; they don't seem to offer an unmanaged dedi.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
