Star Rating

Hi we think about add like function instead of star voting in 7.1!

Thanks much.  No disrespect to you or anyone else here who prefer the like button but I wanted to stick with the star button in addition to the like button (HYBRID).  Again, I was wondering if there is there a way to change the rating system to Vote per member/visitor, instead of vote per IP address.  This causes issues when more than 1 member/vistor uses the same computer as in a household computer or a library computer?

Please?  Anyone.  I need help.

You won't.  I told 'em two years ago that one vote per IP makes no sense.  It's not just people that use the same computer.  It could be millions of people that access the internet through a proxy, and have the same IP.

Don't even think about it.  Don't fix something that isn't broke.  All this facebook copycatting is really making me nauseous.

Thanks Sashae.  I'm not sure what you are referring to and by no means am I trying to insult you but I was referring to trying to fix my problem.  I just need to know where the script is for the Star Rating.  I need to change the voting option from per IP Address to per member and visitors.

I am not a professional programmer. But if I look at the BxDolVotingQuery.php and BXDolVoting.php ... it doesnt seem too hard to rewrite a bit.

All IP addresses are stored in VARCHAR's in MYSQL. Why not use it to store usernames? same thing eventually..

All you need is some programmer to do the trick :-)
